The Lake House which just broke ground for their event center by the Carferry is also in the running for the $50K prize to be decided by the Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce, along with the Momentum Business Plan Competition Board.

Didn't they lead us to believe that they had all their financing in place?

WTF?

Bunch of money hungry posers why are they even in the running for the prize?

We don't need more carpetbaggers  in the city.

Especially for an operation that will employ so few once built.

And is poorly designed as to on site parking.

I would have to say that the Lake House has to be the prohibitive favorite to take the prize.  Consider...

The Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce administers the Momentum program to encourage new businesses to come to Mason County through the competition and to demonstrate that the region is a ripe environment for small businesses to grow and thrive.

All of the other four contestants are already local businesses that have come here already wanting extra money to expand-- or just because they would like the extra money.

Leta's has admittedly been around Ludington for 8 years, wants to expand.

Humani Tea opened in the downtown in June 2018.

Cynthia Lang Pilates has been operating at S Washington since 2016.

The Sister Bees have been around the Ludington area since at least early 2017.

Repeat, they're already here and shouldn't be part of a Momentum program unless there just isn't any entrepreneurs or would-be-entrepreneurs entering this program.  You might as well make out the 50 grand check to the White's and call this secured funding.

Interesting that the other past winners, Starving Artist Brewing Company, Kandy Land Dairy, and All Occasions Events & Floral, were all previously located in Mason county  before they won and all were readily established before winning the prize.

Perhaps the requirements for winning the prize shouldn't include coming to Mason County.

But yeah it looks like the fix is in place for The Lake House to walk away with the money.
