Following the latest scandal regarding the West End Project/Scheme (see The West End Project's Fraudulent Financing Scheme) Ludington City Manager John Shay and City Attorney Richard Wilson have teamed up in a group known as the Debt Swap Boys and remade the 1980's classic by the Pet Shop Boys, West End Girls, celebrating their favorite Community Development Director and co-conspirator of fraud, Heather Venzke Tykoski, into a video called simply West End Girl.  They want to remind you that this is not to deflect their illegal activities, but strictly for your entertainment.

Actually, they lacked the drive to create a video, so all that was changed was the words of the thirty year old song; please follow along with the amended lyrics as the video plays the music.

Sometimes you feel overtaxed
There's a pen in her hand and it's pointing at the fax
You think she's mad, without any scruples
Asking  for grants with costs quadruples
In a city hall in a West End town
Call the police, there's a fraud going down

Regarding a project on a parking lot
In a West End town

In the West End of town, a dead end road
The Good Ol' boys and West End girl
In the West End of town, a dead end plan
The Good Ol' boys and West End girl
West End girl

Too many critics, dissenting voices
Public hearings, not liking her choices
If, when, why, what?
What gall she thinks they got?
How much it costs, will it affect the dune?
The parking that's lost, a view that is ruined.
(How much do they need?)

In the West End of town, a dead end road
The Good Ol' boys and West End girl
In the West End of town, a dead end plan
The Good Ol' boys and West End girl
West End girl
West End girl

(How much does she need?)

In the West End of town, a dead end road
The Good Ol boys and West End girl
Oooh West End of town, a dead end plan
Good Ol' boys, West End Girl
West End girl

She's got a heart of glass and a heart of stone
Just you wait 'til she gets you a loan
She's seen your future, she wants your past
Water Trail now, it'll be a blast
In the West End, she'll put up tents,
Selling beer each night, for each night's events
(How low has she gone?)

In the West End of town, a dead end road
The Good Ol' boys and West End girl
West End of town, a dead end plan
Good Ol' Boys, West End girl
West End girl

West End girl

West End girl
(How far have we dropped?)

Girl
Good Ol' boys
And West End girl
And West End girl
(... forever)
And West End girl
(How far have we dropped?)

Good Ol' boys
The West End girl
The West End Plan
And West End girls

The West End girls
The West End Scheme
The West End girls

Creativity is alive and well on the Torch. Fantastic job X. You do know that writing lyrics for music is very profitable.
