Best of luck to our TIG's, they are still the best in my heart and mind.

Congratulations to Miguel Cabrera who won Baseball's coveted triple crown, leading the league in RBIs, HRs, and Batting Average.  This is the first time it has been accomplished since Carl Yasztremski did it 45 years ago.  The Tigers go into the playoffs against the usual nemesis, the New York Yankees.  With last year's and this year's MVP.  Look out world.

Unless Detroit expands the outfield of their park by a few hundred miles, I guess we'd have to settle for a Lake Michigan- Lake St. Clair series.

Could be the Lake Michigan series

Let's not count the Rangers out before they drop four more.  Hey, I forgot to call out the Brewers when I was talking about how good it was to be a sports fan in this area; they just might play opposite in the series.

Yup, in a state where there is a lot of bad as far as the economy goes, its nice to have something positive happening in the state with the many sports teams doing well.. will be nice if at least one or more of them can bring home a championship to top it off

It's a great time to be following regional pro and college sports in this area.  Green Bay and Detroit (yes, Detroit) are undefeated going into week 5, the Detroit Tigers looks to go deep into the playoffs after handing the Yankees their second defeat.  Michigan and Michigan State are poised for football bowl games and national recognition as they prepare for their annual smackdown betwixt them.  The Red Wings look to be formidable once again and are just in the wings.

Tigers are now up to 12 games in a row with a thrilling comeback from three runs down in the ninth.  Two pinch-hit dingers, then a run in the tenth to send the Windy City fans home disappointed once again, after being Verlander's 23rd victim the previous day.

You know it has been a great weekend for sports in the area Dave when MSU's 44-0 victory is placed on the third page of the sports section, behind a classic beating of Notre Dame by the Wolverines (don't feed 'em), and significant victories by the Lions and Tigers throughout the weekend.

Great weekend for Michigan sports team this last weekend... Tigers won, Lions Won, MSU won and Michigan won in a thrilling come from behind battle against the evil Notre Dame... Let's hope the following weeks will have the same outcomes!
