Up to six years for being guilty by association. Screwed by her husband, then screwed by our justice system.

Justice demands it's time to release her. NOW. And give her back her baby.

If there isn't video from Eric Knysz's holding cell showing him committing the act, I think people have a good reason to believe there may have been foul play.  Jackson, I hear, has an extensive video system in place.

Be that as it may, I would not fault COs missing the actions of Knysz if he did himself in.  They can't be expected to monitor inmates every moment or even every minute.

I am so sad all the way around in this whole thing. For the police officer & family to the knysz family. I live in free soil and am only 2 miles down the road of where this took place free soil will forever be etched as where the police officer was shot. The flag on the side of the road the Teddy bear still there and the post with the Michigan state police colors and his numbers are all there yet even after this harsh winter.  There was more then one life lost and I really don't think that Butterfield would wish anyone dead.  The knysz family also has aunts uncles grandmothers, brothers sisters it goes on and on. One move changed a lot of lifes forever.  there has been a lot of hate on the internet on this whole thing and one thing I would like to add is please put your shoes in every aspect of this NOT for Eric BUT the family's not just one sided.  Me Personally my heart goes out to BOTH side's of this tragic situation..

If that's so then a lot of the blame has to be taken by her attorney for her incarceration. She should have plead not guilty and asked for a change of venue to escape the prejudicial jury pool in Mason County and the surrounding area. Small town politics has sent her to prison.

"When courts blame victims and fail to hold abusers accountable, they reinforce the abuser behavior, subvert justice, disempower the victims, teach children that abusive behavior is permissible, and may even be rewarded, and reinforce the cycle of violence."

Too true, John Streeter.

Sniegowski's too embroiled in the area's politics to do anything as courageous as support Sarah Knysz.  The MSP and the local police are too heavily invested in hate-mongering everything associated with Eric Knysz, with the exception of Eric's father who is a retired cop and somehow immune.  Can this Eye for a Knysz, tooth for a tooth mentality be finally sated at the death of the actual perpetrator of the crime?

In the eyes of reason, Sarah Knysz is not guilty of violating any law-- yet she sits in prison for up to 5 years and 11 months for accepting a plea deal in a courtroom that even Judge Richard T. Cooper had to warn the vast assemblage of police officers to ease off her.  The glares were even hurting his eyes.

Willy, the best they ever did for that was say that she removed the battery on her cell phone, but both her and Eric have claimed that was his directive, and that seems logical that he would.  Other justifications were 'she didn't run away', 'she didn't call out that he had a gun', 'she didn't grab the gun from Eric', etc.

A question that needs to be asked and answered:  Is a hostage an accessory to the crimes of a hostage-taker?

Was it ever revealed what she actually did to be charged with "accessory to murder after the fact"?
