Although the Letter of Trespass was passed on February 28, 2011 and immediately issued on a peaceful Ludington citizen who had committed no crime other than pointing out corruption in a local blog backed by public records that clearly showed the crime by public officials, the genesis of the WSP was the thread about Nick Tykoski's unlawful sign contract with the City that came out on Valentine's Day of that year.

The signage remains a mystery and nonsense to me from start to present day. People, even strangers in town, can certainly ascertain the location of parking lots, city hall, and the library. And even if we had morons who can't find them, did we need to mfr. them in 22 kt. gold leaf paint? The entire episode was fixed for Tye's Signs to be the lone bidder, as I witnessed from statements from several other local contractors for signage during that time period. No one else had time to effectively bid the job, let alone price and stock the required gold leaf paint that was a requirement for the job. This scandal should have effectively had Venzke fired in disgrace, and Tykoski  barred from ever being a COL contractor again. Then, the collusion and conflict of interest factors should have had the MC Prosecutors office making formal criminal charges. But, as we saw, and witness yet today, those people are protected, and X paid the price for due diligence and exposing the crimes.

Correction, Tykoski's sign business never had a contract with the city, just a gentleman's agreement between the officials with the pursestrings-- and plenty of invoices signed by City Manager John Shay and his fiancé/future wife, Heather Venzke, using taxpayer money to pay up to $150,000 for wayfaring signs from Tye's Inc.
