Bulger in both cases. First instance, mom and dad were married, divorced and mom left town for four months, never wanted anything to do with the son. Then when the dad moves on with someone else, she decides to come back into the picture and yank custody from him. She quits her job and takes a less paying job so she can "be a better mom" and collect child support. So they go from 50/50 custody to him having their son every other weekend and he has to pay $500 in child support per month.
Second instance, mom and dad were married. Wife left for another man, she leaves the daughter for two months, they go to court for the divorce and she has their daughter for the week and dad has her every weekend Friday through Monday. Mom decides to not give daughter to father anymore and court does nothing. He meets at meeting spot, waits for 30 minutes on the dot from suggested meeting time and goes home, 4 weeks in a row. Courts are doing nothing.
I too have heard this repeated by many men in Ludington over the years, esp. lately too. Who's this referee? Sorry for the dad's that have this experience here, it's very annoying and not fair.
Referees and even judges cannot always make a decision that seems fair and equitable to all parties involved. The problems arise when they abuse their discretion or weigh the factors unfairly or in a biased manner. What makes you think the referee has made either a bad decision or otherwise acted inappropriately?
