2015 Coldest February on Record in Ludington

According to historical weather records (as accessed at Weather Underground) of Ludington Michigan, which are available on that site from 1948, February 2015 is the coldest February in Ludington on record.  The average temperature this last month came in at 14 degrees, two degrees cooler than last years FeBRRRuary. 

In Ludington's history, the temperature has only dipped below a 19 degree February average in three other years since 1948:  1963 and 1979 recorded average of 16 degrees, while 1978 recorded the previous low monthly temperature of 15 degrees. 

With the frigid temperatures over the last two years, the incredibly high ice coverage of the Great Lakes in the last two years, the cool summer weather, and the vigorous increase in Great Lake's water levels over that same period, one can make a compelling argument that the certainty of global warming (aka climate change) seems to be at least on hold in this section of Michigan, if not in full reverse.

This extreme cool weather for the Great Lakes region seems to defy what LIAA expert and self-proclaimed "state climatologist" Dr. Jeffrey Andresen (pictured above) and his computer models has said would happen before he came to Ludington last year.   He and other LIAA consultants assured us that we need to be prepared for extreme heat events as our climate slowly moves towards the climate of Oklahoma, when its actually going Yukon on us. 

It should be noted that LIAA has made climate change (aka global warming) a major consideration in the nearly $200,000 worth of consultation they have provided in helping Ludington, Mason County, Hamlin and Pere Marquette Townships revise their comprehensive/master plans to be resilient. 

To be fair, only about $30,000 of this consulting was paid for by our tax money, the remaining $150,000 is being paid for by the Kresge Foundation and other agencies deeply invested in promoting the inevitability of global warming and what steps must be taken to combat it-- most of which runs contrary to our country's foundational ideals.

If you have attended some of these events, climate change and Agenda 21 concepts are fairly covert in the general discussion, but the underlying assumption that climate change needs to be addressed by the community and Agenda 21 tactics need to be used by subverting the basic rights of individuals is implicitly abundant. 

This was not any clearer than in the discussions of the Community Action Teams (CAT) when they looked at what they classified as six community systems at work.  Each of the handouts given to 'community leaders' devoted about 1/4 of their handout to what they called 'climate variability', one of the many syllogisms for global warming.  The handouts for the six systems are included along with the box that refers to the effect of increased temperatures on each.

By the time the CAT Process Summary was released, much of the references to climate change was cloaked within the policies.  Unfortunately, the unproven premise of man-made global warming is not something we should invoke to dramatically change the property rights of our citizens and dramatically empower our governments to act in manners that are flatly unconstitutional and therefore against their oath of office.

Every scenario Andresen states could also lead to more bountiful crops, longer growing seasons, more tourist bringing their dollars to spend and many other positive aspects of the "climate change" he is presenting. However most of what he says is just plain BS and propaganda which he hopes the feeble minded amongst us will believe and who will help try to  alter the way of life we all enjoy to appease these new age communists.

I attended one of those meetings and the way the meeting was conducted left no time for those apposed to this Agenda 21 brainwashing to voice their opinions about the phony rhetoric that is being used to try and convince people that relinquishing our personal freedoms in order to save a blade of grass at an oasis in the Sahara will help save the planet. These people are kooks and will not stop until we are under their thumb. I predict the greenies are going to get more pushy and will try and strangle us with nonsensical laws in order to save mankind from the  phony climate change their made up data has predicted.

Give me the choice between a Michigan February and a Michigan August and I'll choose August every time.

At the first meeting held at PM Township, about five people spoke up regarding their concerns over LIAA's past and the future path of our local governments taking advice from such an Agenda 21-friendly organization with direct ties to Agenda 21 implementation.  LIAA folks after that meeting (which was before the well-publicized meeting you attended) apparently reconsidered how they would treat public comment after that-- and dispensed with any opportunity to do so. 

Since quorums of certain public bodies have attended some of these meetings since that point, one has to believe that contrary to their claims, they don't want the public to speak up about this.  The only members of the public that spoke out after that meeting were local officials speaking with the cadences of Stepford Wives.

Funny picture X. I figured that's what happened. Sure is odd that all the Government reps had nothing to say about agenda 21 and the connection to LIAA and other organizations. Surely there must be at least 1 elected official who recognizes this "sustainable" drivel as the BS it truly is.

The City of Ludington Daily News (COLDNews) once again shows it runs loosely with the facts.  In the paper to be released today, reporter Brian Mulholland (for COLDNews aficionados, that's an intentional misspelling of the last name) reports that the dreaded February of 1958 was cooler than this year's February. 

This would seem to contradict what I have reported here, so who is right?  Presuming data is data and he's using the same figures I have as recorded from the Mason County Airport, he says that February 1958 (courtesy again of Weather Underground) shown below:

If you notice, the average temperature in my article above shows the 2015 average temperature a full 7 degrees colder, mirrored also in the average daily highs and lows.   I don't know where he's getting his data from to say a significant seven degree difference at the county airport makes 1958 cooler, but somebody's at error here.

It just goes to show you how easily it can be for climate changers to become climate claimers by fudging stats.

what exactly is this chart saying? Are the Max. and Min. temps "average temps. or are they the highest and lowest temps. recorded on a single day for the month in their respective catagories? If the temps indicate the highest and lowest readings on a given day how can this be used to "average" out a monthly temp? I don't understand this chart.

The chart represents the monthly stats for February 1958, don't get confused by it saying February 16 above that, it's strictly the full month of February 1958, no matter which specific date it has for that February.  Use the provided link and you'll see that is the case.  The Average daily mean (average) temperature in 1958 was 21 degrees while it was 14 this year.  For Ludington, February 1958 wasn't even close to the record for low monthly average temperature. 

I read the full article in the newspaper tonight, and the only reference to records they make are some Custer observation point, so there is a remote possibility Mulholland is using Custer records of dubious vintage to declare that this isn't Ludington's coldest February.  Heaven forbid, he allows his records to be verified.  He borrowed a typical trick of the climate climaxers.
