Prayers answered! God found Vaughn!

That 2006 will be up for Public Auction unless family tows it back.

Ehh, Greyhound? or drive a Lincoln?

Go Greyhound!

Well well, found alive and well, and ditched the business, family, and  clients for a lark and vacation overdue. How maturely and professional was this done? This should say something important about this man's personality and mentality towards his fellow man, employees, family, and society in general. He just doesn't give a DAMN! It's himself first, and everyone else can go to Haiti. I do wonder about the financials too. Wouldn't surprise me there's something else quite important missing from this puzzle. Time will tell, but I do think more on this looney tune will develop into the future.

What is bothersome is Sheriff Cole spent hours investigating the whereabouts of Vaughn. But, this same amount of dedication was not given to an elderly man who disappeared out in the Whiskey Creek area only later to be found dead floating in the PM River. Cole refused to search for him. So, the question being who gets searched for when missing? A prominent businessman or an elderly confused man. Don't appear to be fair.

Excellent point Jasper, so noted. Now, I guess Cole stated there is "no law" that says a man can't disappear, get many family, local people, and Law Enforcement involved in locating a missing person, and that we as taxpayers have to pick up the tab on this incident. Vaughn will have a lot to answer for when and if he reappears in Ludington. He could have simply left a note at his home for family to find, called anyone and left word, or just done anything else courteous so that this incident didn't get blown out of proportion and waste many resources. Like I said previous, this man doesn't give a Damn about anyone but himself, and this is solid proof of that opinion. He never did, nor ever will, be considered a "prominent businessman" imho. Just another implant from outside, that bought a routine run of the mill convenience store, and crumbled under routine business strain, without regard to anyone, end of story.

LDN and MCP are reporting that Hamlin Grocery owed $60,000 in sales tax and withheld income taxes to the State of Michigan.  In addition, he did not pay property taxes since 2014.  I think this changes a lot about this case.  It now appears that Vaughn Flewelling fled the state because his business was struggling and he was facing possible charges of tax evasion/fraud.  He had already been in trouble with the State for the DNR violations a few years ago.  Very interesting......

Here's the COLDNews article on that, which may show why Vaughn was pulling a disappearing act.  The previous incident (detailed earlier in these comments) shows Vaughn was willing to falsify records to withhold money from the State for licenses.  It looks as if he is doing the same thing here to the state as regards other taxes.

What disturbs me with this latest revelation is that his actions look as if he was willing to leave those responsibilities and penalties to others while he tried to create a new life somewhere else.  If that was the actual case, he brought great dishonor to his family.

RUN VAUGHN RUN

Are you serious shinblind? Prayer vigil and all those people posting prayers for his safe return. Sheriff Cole spending how much taxpayer's money on the search for Vaughn? And come to find out Vaughn ran away due to allegeded tax issues.

Vaughn

Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Plan A; hire competent defense counsel

Plan B; hookers, drugs and alcohol.

They Prayer Vigilites and Sheriff Cole should have listened to Aquaman, his instincts were correct and would have saved them a bit of public embarrassment.

First he robs the DNR sports licensing bureau, now the sales tax division? And Hamlin Twnshp.? Hate to say I smelled something like dead fish, but, now you have it. Hope he loses the business over this and goes to jail, unlike the last time, he got let off easy. Anyone know where the link is on that property taxes? I looked already and couldn't find that info., thanks.

Check my previous comment here, it has a link to the COLDNews article.  I just hope he is treated fairly and the truth, good or bad, is allowed to matriculate out.  I also hope that the damage to the Hamlin Grocery franchise isn't fatal, as it is an important fixture in Hamlin Township and its loss will be sorely missed by the locals and tourists alike.  It would likely be best if it comes under new management.

Really shinblind. Run Vaughn run! Why not hang man hang as your comments seem to refer to about Ross. If Vaughn is guilty of what is claimed, I'm sure he will be rewarded with some stiff penalties. The real crime in my opinion is turning his back on family and friends and causing a massive amount of grief for them. If streeter is correct about Vaughn disguising himself then it seems he had no intentions of being found and this disappearing act was not just a temporary get away. Does anyone know if he has a gambling problem? If so, then that would explain much of this, especially if he is involved with criminal elements.
