That radio activated foghorn is something new since the COL owns it now, never before. Foghorn was always activated inside the lighthouse, via some manual light house keeper, then later some sensors unknown to me. Now boaters unfamiliar with activation, are left clueless about where it is in heavy fog. Another great idea by Shyster Shay and others unfamiliar with the boating world. And the foghorn signal sounds sick compared to the old horn we had growing up too.

I'm still amazed that any boater with a radio can activate the foghorn. I'm surprised that pranksters have not taking over the horn. The lighthouse, in the photo, is being lit up by the spotlights on the Badger as it approaches the harbor entrance. The Badger was using it's lights to look for and warn boaters.

The lighthouse blinks on and off all the time in green color. Perhaps this is the scene when the foghorn goes off when it's been started. You start the foghorn on VHF channel 79, and depress the microphone 5 times in 5 or 10 seconds to initiate the sound from it.

Thanks X. Do you have any guesses as to why the lighthouse structure is so well lit at that time of the night?
