For some reason shinblind got no invitation. Must have been an oversight by her staff.

I wonder how many conservatives will be there. X City Manager Shay will be riding to the event with x-mayor Holman. Kaye said it's a date but Shay says it's a physical thing only. After the meeting they will be having ice cream at HOF and checking out the tax black holes at the end of Ludington Ave, Copyen Park, City Marina docks, downtown low income apts. and the Badgers docking area along with any future tax consuming holes. That could end up being a complete tour of Ludington.

I'd like to send Governor Whitmer a FOIA request to find out who all was sent invitations to this event, but two months into her term, Gretchen hasn't indicated that she will honor FOIA requests made out to her office.  Michigan is only one of two states that protects the governor from the FOIA and she could show the Michigan legislature that she is intent on keeping her campaign promise  (expanding the Freedom of Information Act to include the governor’s office and legislature) by indicating she will respond to FOIA requests regardless of whether the Republican-majority congress acts.

She said she would in her Date of the State address, but there has been no formalized law? It'd be a good test to send a FOIA and see the reply!

The governor said as part of her address:   "For too long, our government has been plagued by a lack of transparency. We have consistently ranked the worst in the country. We have the power to fix that: let’s expand FOIA to my office and to the legislature. It’s time to ensure that the sun shines equally on every branch of state government."

I would have appreciated with her following that up by saying that she was facilitating her staff to handle FOIA requests in the near future regardless of whether the legislature wishes to act on strengthening the FOIA officially or not.  If nothing gets done, it gives a great issue for state Democrats to run on in 2020; if something gets done, she shows that she has leadership skills for getting this finally accomplished after 44 years of the FOIA.

Yes. I'm glad you had a transcript, X. That's exactly what I heard her say in her State (not trying to be funny with typo "Date" in my earlier comment) of the State speech. I hope, if you do FOIA her, that you quote her speech in your intro. Thanks again, X, for having facts at hand and being the most unbiased news.
