Well spoken, Aquaman, and quite true.  Chuck loves to throw smears against Fiers, and kiss holes for Coles, but he can't even give examples of his aspersions like "at no time has Cole belittled Fiers, but Fiers points fingers and calls names at every turn".  How about it, Chuck, show us some beef, and forget the sheep for now.

Apologies to the Torch Censor Board for that second sentence.

My apologies to all the fine folk here on the torch, I stand corrected, There is no one in the jail that poses a threat to anyone, just plain citizens that needed a time out from the stress of their everyday lives to refresh and recharge to become more productive in society. And why would anyone really want to research any farther than what they have been told? I guess the people that work that job everyday taking care of all the raffle winner should be happy that they can provide a SPA like atmosphere for those lucky few that take advantage of that facility. I guess I was wrong to talk to the ones employed and in charge of those lucky few. So I guess the only thing the staff commented on that was right was that this administration views them as a troublesome bunch of uneducated scaredy cats that jump at their own shadows...again I was wrong

Ron,sorry but as I have been lead to believe on here, there are no bad people in jail. It's all falsities that there are any no types of safety issues there. Because if there were I'm sure the incumbent would bring that to light and not fail to mention it to the voting public, according to every one on here the incumbent speaks only truths.

Ron and Chuck,

If you are only on here to throw unfounded and unsupported propaganda for Kim Cole or against Jeff Fiers, you are going to be shown the door in short order.  Likewise, making such statements about people on this site that are false.  Examples in your posts here:

"All I have seen in this election is Jeff doing the degrading and name calling.":  the standing offer is to show such degradation and name-calling by Fiers

"I have been lead to believe on here, there are no bad people in jail":  who said this?

It's getting old, quick, guys.  If you guys are the typical Cole supporters, our county is going to be in trouble for 4 years.

Not at all; but I have yet to see any proof of it.  Two partisan jokers saying that he did is not up to anybody's standard of proof.  Fiers has rightly pushed the morale issue back to the lap of Sergeant Cole, since Cole pointed the problem out initially.  What has Cole done to raise morale?  Raise a lot of bogus issues against the boss (Fiers) for political expediency?

Does that not lower morale in and of itself?

NO he hasn't said any negative rumors about Cole, nor has has he been degrading towards Cole in this campaign. You will not be able to provide proof of this, but it seems at every turn, we can find things that Cole has said about Sheriff Fiers that were not factual in nature, or were misleading...Sheriff Fiers is NOT running a smear campaign like his opponent is, but he does have the right to defend himself, his family, and to defend the issues that Cole has brought up...Sheriff Fiers is a clean man, has a clean family, and is running a clean campaign.

Michelle, how is Sgt Cole running a smear campaign?  I haven't noticed anything like that.

Cole  should have spent the last few years as SGT. and being Union Steward working with the admin at MCSO through his union superiors and the union employess group(non-admin employess) to resolve the issues he claims. Instead it appears he has grouped up with the non-admin group to be angry at fiers for not solving these problems. If these issues are such a huge deal why weren't they resolved through union contracts.

From my understanding of how a business must function if a union is involved is as follows

***(the vest  being one issue, if they are not written into the contract it does not fall in to  admins  to give the group what they want, The union group should(must by law correct?) take it up with the union leaders to get the vest issue handled, with things such as union, the only place this issue can be handled is within the contracts. Once the unionized employees sign there most current contracts (for however many years that is) the issue is  set in stone, Cole and is fellow union members cannot knock on The Sheriffs door and request vests, or a raise or insurance or 401k contributions, or even new pencils or clipboards, they have to go to their union and lock it into a binding agreement as part of there employment contract. it appears to me that these vests were not desired by the unionized employees when the most current contract was  signed, then later some people changed their minds.) I don't see that any sheriff in any county would be responsible for providing an item(any item) that was not spelled out in the contract.

If I were a  boss if I had an employee(s) I hired and we spelled out their desires in there employment contract and they told me they did not want something it would not be right for them to blame me for them not having it later on, i would expect them to ask to re-write the contract to provide for whatever tools they decided were needed at the time they found the need for them.

The way this entire thing appears is that coming from the Cole/Union side is that even thought the union employment contracts spelled out the terms and tools of the employees they are now wanting the admin side to provide things they did not request(and specifically stated they had no desire for) in the employment contract.

This feels like a lot of issues that should be taken care of in the employment contract and not requested outside of that arena.

If they are not getting what they need they need to sit down with the union reps and get a list together to present to the admin to amend the employment contracts. This is not like a small hardware store without a union where the employee can say 'hey boss were out of hand soap in the break room, can you grab some next time you are at the store?'....everything has to be approved by the union and only then can it be presented to the non union administrators.

And I bet if an employees did knock on Fiers door and say they needed something and they were not a union shop he would run to the store and get it for them, but being they are union he can't do that.

It seems to me that Cole did not do a good job of representing his fellow union workers needs to the administration, and make sure the admins knew and got those needs met by going back to negotiating with the union superiors, to me a lot of the responsibility for the unhappiness of these people falls to Coles as the union steward. Cole---The go between from the employees to the admins--- is responsible for making sure the employees needs are met, and it appears he has failed at that, and I am not sure if he is sheriff how he will be able to switch sides and work as a sheriff if he could not keep the union happy as there steward.

Thank you Jane it has been quite difficult to put up with all of the constant comments that chuck and ron have been trying to sling for days ! We have asked them several times to give us alittle proof to back up their comments and all we get is more rude comments...It is like dealing with children...

I'm waitng for proof from you that what you say is true also. And who are the union superiors?

Chuck, quit ducking the question by reflecting it away, please answer without the usual poppycock, or you may be shown the door.   I was wavering in my support for Fiers with the McAdam revelations, but you are reinforcing the belief that Cole would be a lot worse.

After all, the sergeant can't even admit he has done procedural mistakes that cost the County $7500 plus all those lawyer fees.

Cole inferred a lot of stuff about the leadership and activities of Fiers, but in review of his interviews and posts, he did not resort to significant namecalling and untruths.  A lot of that came from his proponents.

Now, review what Fiers has on record and tell me any sort of namecalling or lie that Sheriff Fiers used in this election.  Otherwise, can the spin.

Chuck, the union superiors would be the suits out of town that run the union and tell suggest to the local union members what to do, what to ask for, the white collar guys.
