Greetings, Torchers. As a newbie here I would like to say that I have followed your postings for quite some time (actually, since the demise of the "Soup") and now feel compelled to submit my own contribution.

I would like to call upon my fellow liberals to come out of the shadows and be as hysterical about some of our core beliefs as a number of conservatives seem to be lately. Why should they get to have all the fun? I thought we were supposed to be the radicals. Doesn't anyone remember the sixties?

Anyway, I'd like to be the first to congratulate my socialist/communist/the-guy-wasn't-even-born-here/pals-around-with-terrorists/he's-destroying-the-country/President for tricking President George H.W. Bush into signing UN Agenda 21 TWO DECADES AGO and waiting until now to unleash its devastation.

Brilliant strategy and obviously something we libs need to jump up and down about.

***Hanging head in shame***  I guess I am not a true liberal (in your little mind's eye) then.   I do not drive a Prius (I thought only liberals watched South Park!), I hate Kool-aid, and I've never attended a meeting where I discuss boring ol' Utopian thoughts.   I am quite essentially, an imposter liberal, too busy with my career, volunteer efforts, restoring a 100-year-old home and trying to be a moderately acceptable wife to be a full-fledged card-carrying left winger.     Shame on me.    I hope you are not terribly disappointed, Mr. Bailey.   On a bright note, I DID place an Obama sign on my front lawn!   Does that count for anything?   Have I reclaimed myself as the Devil Incarnate in your eyes?

Hmmm.....would a Honda CRV happen to be on that list?

Ugh - Land Rovers are so unreliable, and I detest any car that is not reliable.  Which is why I drive a Honda.    Pray tell, what kind of car is list of conservative-approved vehicles?

I have an extremist Liberal college professor friend who drives a Prius with a bumper sticker that says: “I’d rather be smashing Conservatives.”

Tiger drives a GMC Yukon with a bumper sticker that says: “Truth in the pleasant disguise of illusion.” (For anyone who missed having a quality liberal arts education it’s a line from a Tennessee Williams play, “The Glass Menagerie.”

Thought-provoking essay, William.  Good job.

No, Mr. Bailey.....few books ON writing....but lots OF writing.   I have an enormous collection of cookbooks (over 100) several dozen Abbie Hoffman biographies and a modest library of Ken Kesey novels.    And a grand piano.

Nope - that would not be mine.

So, how come Jane gets to announce herself as an Atheist and not be linked to Godless Communism? I would have expected you guys to be gathering up the wood for her public burning at the stake. What gives?

Ok, I'm out of here and leaving it up to Ms. Jubi to weather the maelstrom and continue the fight for truth, justice and the Liberal way.

You can't leave us now Mr. Tiger....you finally brought me out of my shell then left me here to stand up to these people all by myself.

Ms. Jubi, I haven’t abandoned you; I fully support Dubya Bush’s highly successful “Leave No Liberal Behind Act.”

They know better! LOL, kidding.

But really the religion thing is not as important around here as I think some may portray it as being. The key is that (and I believe this to be true of most of us here over the past years) anyway the key, is that you can believe whatever religion or lack there of you choose, just don't try to go all PC and get rid of centuries old holiday traditions that are pretty and entertaining and make everyone change their names from xmas to 'holiday'.More like, leave well enough alone, and do as you please for yourself, but it stops at my nose. And these guys have known me for years in the real world so it is not like a hateful thing between us all, versus a newcomer(not you, I mean in the past other people) preaching the destruction of  the christmas, easter etc..

Please stick around, I think whoever said it is right, for the most part we want the same things but see polar opposite ways of getting there, and it is nice having liberals around who can put up well thought out posts and backup there opinions with real data. and have some fun insult slinging fests but not be truly mean about things.

Agreed, Jane.
