Event Description

Most torches are good if they only last an hour, but our Ludington Torch still burns brightly six years later.  Our six year anniversary coincides with our initial sendoff, where the winter solstice saw a Ludington city council meeting and planning how to enhance their power and their pocketbooks at the expense of the citizenry.

And whereas, the Ludington Torch and other allies have been unsuccessful so far in reigning in this foul juggernaut of corrupt officials and favored cronies, the light is not only at the end of the tunnel, but resting solidly in the sconces of those who believe that the status quo can-- and must-- be changed, in Ludington, in Mason County, and everywhere else that has seen corruption take root and darkness prosper.

A special thanks to all who have joined the LT and have joined the discussion to make our city and our country a better place; may we see even more progress each year hence.  Please add your piece this December 21st.

Thank you, Aquaman, and as you would figure, the day of a meeting for me usually is filled with a lot of running around and cogitating.  I advised the city council not to rehire the city manager and attorney, listing a few reasons why.  They didn't take heed, both were hired, though Councilor Holman did suggest there needs to be a change while being the only councilor voting against Shay.

Happy Torch anniversary all. I expect that XLFD will be back later tonight, as a city council meeting is probably happening soon. Thanks for all you do X, we have made a lot of progress, and have you to thank for most of the work and investigations via FOIA requests. And thanks to all that participate to help in new ideas and suggestions, along with news of worthiness to all in our area.

Thanks for being here for all those six years, Aquaman and Willy, and lending your valuable viewpoints and content.  It is a testament to your concern for the city and its people.  Everyone's feedback has been invaluable.

It doesn't seem like 6 years have past already. It  feels almost like yesterday when X started all this after he had gone on his ill fated bike ride. Just think if that idiot, no foolish, no ignorant is the word I'm looking for, cop had just harassed some criminals instead of imitating Barney and touting his authority, we wouldn't be communicating on the forum.

This should be a celebratory occasion that the Torch lasted this long. The COL and it's cronies have made every attempt and action, both legal and not, to extinguish this forum since it's inception. Trolls by the hundreds have joined and made chaos and threats here for all these years. People have had character assassinations made on them regularly, both publicly, and privately, and still are. The media of the LDN, and now the MCP, have also joined the bandwagon to this end. All those tenacious and vicious attacks have failed, one after the other. The reason is that we Torchers, esp. our founder XLFD, have  proven our facts with solid evidence and FOIA requests for covered up information. The coverups continue irregardless, and the FOIA's keep getting blocked, now by unethical attorneys. But, that hasn't stopped us from digging in and making the TRUTH be known to all in this fair city. Congrats. for 6 years of survival, and long live the freedom to exchange ideas, prove falsehoods, and fight for our constitutional and civil rights. Even if some would thwart it, and destroy it, for the sake of vanity and greed!
