Instead of wasting more time and money to remodel the dome structure, they should be using the money to restructure the minds and souls of the politicians running the damn place to help Michganders out of this 10 year recession and job losses.

It's part of a $6.4 million project to renovate the dome announced earlier this year by the State.  Our state aristocrats couldn't understand how the citizens could vote down proposal 1, raising our tax rates 17%, when they devote large sums to their Lansing projects, which will involve moving the state police from a $48 million building  built especially for them in 2010, and the $70 million for new office space for our state senators, all announced this year.

Without any reform movement in the state congress, the tax increase would have went to more of the same nonsense and paying off their other excesses.

Be that as it may, it is always a memorable sight to see them renovate these domes, I saw the last renovation 25 years back and saw the Austin (Texas) dome having the same process being done in the summer of 2000 or 2001 when I was visiting there.
