Michigan's Democratic Party Slams Parent's Role in Education

State Democrats had to walk back a controversial post made on their official Facebook site early this last weekend.  Surprisingly, the post had been up for around two days, received a couple thousand 'likes' and 'loves', and even more 'shares', before it was ultimately taken down, so one might think that the post reflected the thoughts of many who frequent that site.  One might say the post related the unsaid or quiet thoughts of this political party, and trumpeted it loudly and proudly for once.  What did it say?  We have the original post:

One has to believe that most parents reading this, even those who swing on the Democrat side, would be taken aback at the arrogant elitism on display by the MDP.  If you are a responsible parent who loves your children and takes an active part in their growth, you should be alarmed at the public school telling you that you have no control over what they are taught, they think they know better.

You should be upset that they took the elite stance that if you don't like it, you can choose a private school to send them to.  Many of us common folks have a hard enough time supporting the public schools which we have to subsidize even when they are not performing up to standards, now you're telling us that if we don't like how the public school is performing, we have to spend a lot more to get a quality education more aligned with our wishes?  These elitists are the same ones who will not support school vouchers that would allow you to afford taking your children out of the public schools.

They emphasize using bold-face letters and underlining that the schools are not there to serve the parents but to teach their kids what the entire community needs them to know.   The problem with that is once you remove all the parents from contributing to their children's education, you actually remove the entire community out of the process and all that is left is universal indoctrination that does not recognize the cultural and sociological differences between growing up in rural Negaunee or in urban East Los Angeles, or the various skills you need in each to thrive.

Around 25 years ago, the state legislature and governor passed a law that codified the idea that it was a fundamental right of parents to be involved with the teaching of their children-- and a fundamental duty of the public schools to recognize and foster that role:

As noted, after a couple of days on Facebook, the MDP wised up and took the post down.  After all, pundits say a big part of why Democrats lost big in Virginia in 2021 was the Democrat gubernatorial candidate asserting at a debate that parents had no say in the education of their young ones, not to mention other school issues like CRT and a boy who identified as a girl, but used his boy-parts to allegedly commit sexual assaults in the girl's restroom.  When the parents got involved there, they changed the campus culture away from permitting racism and rape.  Schools need parents as much as children do.

On Monday around noon, the Michigan Democrat Party erased their offensive post and offered the following 'correction'.  They finally realized that they had went down a bad political road and needed to cover up their indiscretion.  Make no mistake, the original post was how the elite elements of this party feel about parents and education, but saying it out loud will not accomplish their overall goals:

"We have deleted a post that ignored the important role parents play—and should play—in Michigan public schools. Parents need to have a say in their children’s education, end of story.
The post does not reflect the views of Michigan Democrats and should not be misinterpreted as a statement of support from our elected officials or candidates."

Parents, if you want to be part of the growth and development of your children, take an active role; don't expect the local public school to implant the knowledge and wisdom you have accumulated over your lifetime into your child, because (absent your input) they may just turn your child into someone that he wasn't designed to be, and someone you might not recognize.

And let's not forget that mask mandates, the shutting down of businesses and all of the other negative covid decisions that came from these same Leftists. These people are a cancer to a civilized World. I have asked this question before and it bears repeating. If you are a Democrat, why? If you are a Democrat, then either thru ignorance or maliciousness you are aiding in the down fall of the free enterprise system and our Republic. There's no getting around it, that is the agenda of the Left ,the Democrat Party, the Marxists and Communists. Their goal is to fundamentally change society with specific focus on indoctrinating our children in schools. The Federal Government, as most of you have heard, is focusing on going after parents who complain at school board meetings.

There was a time, not that long ago, when the Democrat Party embraced American values and the basic civil rights of individuals.  It may have not been the same way Republicans did, but there was always room for debating the differences and figuring out either a compromise or the best way.

Nowadays, they've embraced censorship, gun bans, and every other ideal that goes against the rights of individuals.  Do you ever see any Democrat standing up for basic civil rights of those people held in prison for over a year for the riot that happened in DC on 1-6-2021, or for Ashli Babbitt, the only person killed that day, unarmed and shot inside the capitol by an unrepentant capitol policeman?  Democrats have once again drifted back to being the party promoting racism, sexism, privilege, and slavery-- this isn't a good look, but it attracts the unwary lured in by the rhetoric and the free stuff offered.
