For those of you who did not know who or what she was [I didn't] here is a small clip with a partial explanation regarding the story of the CIA Directors affair with Mrs Broadwell. It's now been revealed the the woman who filed the complaint with the FBI that started the probe is herself involved with a top ranking General. The plot thickens.

Shame, the end of a brilliant Military and Political career.

My feeling is why did he have to resign when Clinton did not get impeached ???At least he didn't jump through hoops to cover it up,he admitted what he did and that it was wrong but I do not feel that he should lose his job over being human and making mistakes (just saying)

Petraeus is basically an honorable man, and honorable people typically resign when they caught in situations like this.  Clinton's offense was a lot worse, but even those who regard him as a great president or politician, cannot defend his honor successfully.

Humans were not meant to be monogamous. To do so by choice is one things, but to criticize others who choose to follow there biological desires is wrong. Live as you see fit for yourself, but don't expect me to live the same way. But if my hubby cheated he would be in some deep doo doo. lol

Jane

When is it OK to criticize a prominent head of a Governmental organization if not when they cheat on their spouse? The problem with the CIA director situation is that there is the potential for blackmail if his affair had been uncovered by enemies of the U.S. which could have compromised U.S. intelligence. I wouldn't trust any man or woman who cheats on their spouse.

Rational and realistic points Willy, esp. when we consider this is the CIA Director, not an insignificant agency by any means. But, you gotta love that Levity of Jane's, lmao & rofl funny stuff. Btw, X, you made a specifically important and moral point, honorable men do what is honorable, Clinton doesn't even know the definition, his whole life was dedicated to unholy alliances, both political, and personal.

Thats my point if Clinton did not get Impeached then why should this man have to lose his job ??? I just don't think that he should have to lose his job, although I do understand Willy's point about the trust issue. Jane I also agree with you too :) There are just to many double standards.

There is no double standard here. Clinton was impeached by the House, the Senate was 17 votes shy of what was needed for impeachment but it was still a 50/50 vote to impeach in the Senate, so it was close. When someone is cheating on their spouse everyone knows that person has to tell a myriad of lies to cover up their affair. That in itself is a telling fact about a persons character. I agree with X that the CIA director did the honorable thing and resigned but as I see it he had no choice. The controversy that would surround his office would have made him ineffective at serving in that position. The real problem now is the cover up about his affair before the elections. The FBI knew about this months ago. When someone is trusted with America's secrets as the CIA director was, security is of utmost importance and this should have been addressed when it came to light but was not. The handling of this situation is another indication of how corrupt Obama's administration really is.

And it will only get more corrupt, as Obama's second term gets underway.  It would be interesting to see direct proof showing the delay by the FBI was politically motivated.

Aquaman, sadly, I have come to the personal opinion that the vast majority of politicians have led a life dedicated to unholy alliances, both political and personal.

Broadwell is saying what the President won't. The President still wants us to believe that the Libyan attack was about a movie. We all know what happened and the press is still covering for Obama. The Administration knew that the embassy attack was orchestrated by a militia group. She does try to make excuses for the Administration near the end of the video.
