A taxicab business operating out of Amber Township has been taken out of business at least temporarily by the state's main licensing agency for not registering and allowing a convicted sex offender as a driver, which is not allowed in Michigan.  From TV 9&10:

The state ordered a Ludington taxi company to stop operations, claiming it is not properly registered and employed a convicted sex offender.

Licensing and Regulatory Affairs ordered Town and Country Taxicab and Delivery Service in Ludington to cease and desist for operating without having registered with LARA and for allowing a convicted sex offender to drive a cab.

The state also made a criminal referral to police.

Town and Country now has a certain amount of time to get registered, prove it no longer has a sex offender working there, as well as pay a small fine.

The lack of registration is no big deal but hiring sex offenders who will have contact with women and children and possibly be alone with them is definitely a big no no.
