This is going to be an important cause for the people of America. This is going to define and sharpen the divide that exists between Conservatives and leftist Marxists in this Country. The fact that it started at a sports event is somewhat surprising though. Disrespecting by not standing for the National Anthem spread throughtout the NFL over the weekend. An action first taken by  Kaepernick the NFL quarterback last year. Trump felt it necessary to comment on the protest last weekend when over 200 players refused to stand for the pledge. I totally agree with Trump

According to Newsweek on Yahoo:  The NFL quietly changed its rules on players protesting the national anthem following a torrent of criticism from President Donald Trump, according to reports.

On Sunday, as Cowboys GM Jerry Jones spoke to reporters, it emerged that he had spoken to Trump “about an NFL policy in game operations manual that dictates players stand for the national anthem.”

According to Deadspin, the 2014 edition of the game operations manual—officially named the Policy Manual for Member Clubs—is significantly different when it addresses punishment. It says: “Failure to be on the field by the start of the National anthem may result in disciplinary action from the League Office.”

The version currently being pushed out by the NFL differs in two ways: Firstly, there are increased penalties for not standing for the national anthem, but also the punishment does not have to come from the league office now.

It is unclear when the change was made to the language in the manual, and Newsweek is yet to hear back from the NFL for comment.

You will enjoy this video X. It's a legal discussion about Kapernick's grievance against the NFL. This situation with Kapenick is getting out of hand. The legal opinion by some is that this could bring down the NFL.

That last outcome is highly unlikely, barring some smoking gun E-mail or unlikely admissions by team owners.

I know several people locally who have been doing a great job in the food service industry for many years.  If they all of a sudden decided to start doing something that many of the regular customers would find offensive, then they received counseling from managers as to why they should not continue the offensive act, and yet continued to do so, you can bet they would be out of a job with only themselves to blame.   This should be the same and it's a shame that Colin thinks otherwise, but it's not surprising in that his thoughts behind kneeling in the first place were poorly conceived too.

I know I, along with millions of other fans, would just like to see this entire Kaepernick situation die away, and end, so we can get back to the games and season just half over now. I still also believe Trump said it all, fire the SOB's that participate unpatriotically, and get on with the game. Attendance for most stadiums are still very high, and probably will continue to be. People have enough problems at work and home in life to let this spoil their fall season.

The Lansing Catholic High School team I mentioned earlier whose black players kneeled for the anthem received no permanent punishment but the schools student body was required to under go the leftist diversity indoctrination. We are definitely in an upside down World. Black players who disrespect the flag, the nation, their school and supporters snub their noses at everyone and are treated honorably but the students who stood for the anthem and showed respect for the flag, school, nation and supporters must undergo retraining in order to let them know how wrong and how racists they are.

LANSING -- Nearly four weeks after four Lansing Catholic football players started kneeling during the national anthem at games in an effort to peacefully protest against racism, the high school appears ready to address the topic head-on.

Doug Moore, the school's principal, sent an email Saturday to all students that encourages them to be part of a "multicultural diversity student group."

The diversity group, according to Moore's email, will hold morning and afternoon meetings Thursday and is aimed to "create a safe space for students to talk about issues of race and ethnicity and build bridges of unity and respect."

"Racism is real," Moore said in the email. "It affects all of us but in different ways. And how do we respond to it — ignore it, fight it, change it?"

The email, forwarded this week to the Lansing State Journal by two parents, said the group is expected to include participation from "several teachers and parents who are willing to help." It doesn't say how often the group will meet.

This is unbelievable. Lansing City Council gives honor awards to high school players who ...

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – Four current and former Lansing Catholic High School athletes who took a knee during the national anthem before several football games, were recognized by Lansing City Council members Monday night.

Michael Lynn III, Roje Williams, Matthew Abdullah and Kabbash Richards have been making headlines since October. That’s when they began following the national trend by taking a knee to protest social injustice, especially racism.

Their actions have caused quite the controversy among many people on both sides of the issue and as a result, the school penalized each of them by not allowing them to start during some games.

“We are four young black men who are dedicated toward ending injustice and racism,” Roje Williams said to the crowd after being recognized. “We started off as supporting the take a knee movement, through our own journeys we have found each of us have been battling racism on our own within the walls of Lansing Catholic High School.”

It’s a move that hasn’t exactly been easy for the four young men.

“People have attacked our character, our respect for our country and have done everything they can to twist our message,” Williams added.

Lynn and Abdullah have since transferred out of LCHS.

“The Lansing City Council declares Michael Lynn III, Roje Williams, Matthew Abdullah, Kabbash Richards as local heroes and supports their efforts to leverage their positions and platforms, both present and future, to raise awareness of injustices affecting many residents in our community,” Councilwoman Jessica Yorko said as she read the adopted resolution.

Even though the athletes were punished for their actions, the council members and several members of the community in attendance Monday night gave them praise.

“I want you to keep being the role models that you’re being because you don’t, maybe not see yourself as that, but you really are,” At-Large Councilmember Judi Brown Clarke said. “I’m very proud of you.”

“One of the things I’m most impressed about is your ability to come here and not only take a stance, but then articulate your stance,” Councilmember Adam Hussain added. “I have no doubts after hearing from you guys that you have the ability going forward to, as councilmember Washington said, to get your hands dirty, to do some more work and I think you’ve actually started with that real work.”

After the special ceremony, the four young men were met with a standing ovation from the crowd.

“When people hate on you or hate you, scream the loudest you don’t really see it, you don’t feel it, but it was definitely in full effect today,” Lynn said. “The standing ovation almost made me cry.”

“It made me feel like we’re actually truly making a difference in Lansing and hopefully eventually in the world,” Williams added.

Abdullah said he felt overwhelmed by the community.

“This was amazing,” he said. “Getting to see all the people come out and support us.”

“I just felt really blessed, really blessed that everybody came out and supported me,” Kabbash added.

When the football season ended, Kabbash took his protest to the basketball court, where he took a knee last Friday during the anthem at Williamston High School.

Kabbash was benched for the entire game because of it.

Fans said they weren’t happy about his peaceful protest, adding that it has and continues to draw negative attention to Lansing Catholic High School and that high school games are not the place to participate in such a protest.

Gary Casteel, a Vietnam War veteran said while he does not support the movement happening nationally among professional athletes, he respects these four local students for their leadership.

After they were honored, Casteel commended them for their efforts outside council chambers.

“Their speeches was from the heart, I can tell that,” Casteel said. “I told them that on behalf of the veterans, we don’t think everyone’s bad that takes a knee because we fought for the American people, we didn’t fight for race, we fought for the flag.”

For those who may find themselves in the same position as these four young men, Lynn said he has a message to send.

“To the young people of Lansing, young minorities of any kind whether that’s sexual, racial, religious, speak up for what you believe in,” Lynn said. “Don’t take flack for what you are; you can’t change what you are.”

6 News reached out to the president of Lansing Catholic High School for comment on this story, but did not hear back.

Just last week, the school sent a letter to parents saying athletes who kneel during the national anthem won’t play; the letter also detailed some of the schools new policies.

The letter went on to say that while it supports social justice, it is not changing its stance that athletes should stand for the national anthem.

If this isn't a sign that our Country is sinking into a leftists abyss I don't know what would be considered unacceptable behavior by those that would reduce America to a country that disrespects everything that made America a beacon for freedom and liberty. Honoring high school students who thumb their noses at symbols and ideals of liberty is mind boggling. I have family in Lansing and they cannot remember when this town or any town has sunk so low into the bowels of anti American sentiment. Can anyone believe that these disrespectful and spoiled teenagers were called heroes.

The NFL refused to accept a Superbowl ad submitted by a veterens group regarding standing for the National Anthem. Am I watching the Superbowl? Hell no.
