Tax Abatements are a good idea where Verification of kept Jobs and New Jobs added can be proven. Trouble is, too many promises made by corporate owners are never kept, and the jobs never verified later as one would determine is only fair and prudent. This in my opinion, is where the buck should stop, and abatements be reversed if necessary. And there are only a few favored parties in town that actually have their tax abatements approved, the rest of them denied.

Didn't mean to misspell picnic table, but gee, I just noticed Castonia has a nice new white golf shirt on, no doubt paid for with taxpayers monies, as it clearly states City of Ludington with a logo picture on it. Are these part of the perks? Or are they for sale somewhere? Just curious.......lol.

Sour puss faces indeed. And sour grapes of wrath in their petty little hearts to boot. I noticed at the big high school reunion last summer 2010, 1968-1972, Gary Castonia refused to mingle with anyone outside his own relatives seated at a pinic table for about the 5 hours I was there mingling around to see my friends and classmates. That says alot in itself to me. And I did not see any approaching their table to shake hands either.

City 'Frown'-cilors.  Each of the three city councilors had the perpetual-frown thing going on Tuesday, at least for this 45 minute stretch.  Lighten up people, you're being paid 72 times what our City Charter says you are supposed to.  I found it amusing when X said he would work at the established-by-ordinance City Charter rate of $50 per year, and no one argued that fact.  The three councilors earn $3600 per year contrary to city law.  Do they deserve more than $50 per year?  Sure.  Should they violate the law?  No.
