... one giant leap for Ludington citizens. My first step on City Hall/LPD property after it has been declared I can do so without being fired upon-- or at least charged with trespassing. According to City zoning law, lots extend to the middle of the road. 5-1-2012

Funny to look back at it now. Except that these same people now, pretty much the same faces, still believe their stomping of citizens constitutional rights is still legal and acceptable. I guess they finally realized that banning someone from public city hall wasn't constitutional, and wouldn't stand up in court if need be. That "Gestapo" mentality is still alive and strong though, so everyone out there, be aware, and on guard, it could be you next time that the bell tolls for.

Two and a half years ago today, I was finally able to travel on restricted public ground, the city hall and police department.  Before that, I was petrified that just driving on the west side of Harrison Street would get me arrested by the LPD, so even though I lived just two blocks away, I always had to use different routes.

Isn't it odd that I, not accused of any wrongdoing other than publishing unethical and unlawful contract-making by the City with Councilor Nick Tykoski's company, was unable to go onto public property for well over a year, being unable to attend meetings or vote at my polling place because of a Constitutionally-challenged ordinance passed by the Ludington City Council, after being written by the city attorney and endorsed by the city manager.  City hall so feared a peaceful, law-abiding citizen making FOIA requests that they had to keep him from being on public property that his tax dollars brought

And now, the same people have passed a Constitutionally-challenged ordinance that allows their people to enter your home (but only if you're a landlord or tenant, for now) to go into any nook and cranny, so that they can find problems in your house.  City Officials, check your own house first, it has a lot of defects.  Just like both of these ordinances.
