Its a shame that the OWS protesters are so disrespectful to other people... it would probably go a long way to wider acceptance of the general public if they were. Sadly, they apparently have the mentality that they deserve things... which they don't. I got a feeling that the Occupy encampments wont be around much longer, with winter coming in I think the cities will make the Occupiers finally go home as they don't want to be responsible for the protesters if a bunch of them froze to death. With the problems that have been arising at the different encampments of late, I don't see how the cities can do anything else but move the protesters along.

A business owner near the Occupy Wall Street encampment claims she has been repeatedly harassed and threatened with bodily harm by protesters after she and her employees refused to give in to their outlandish demands.

“I’ve been told, ‘Watch your back!’ 10 times,” Stacey Tzortzatos, owner of Panini & Co. Breads, located across from Zuccotti Park, told The Post yesterday.

She and her employees are terrified by the constant threats, which she said began after she demanded the protesters stop using her shop’s restroom as a place to bathe every day.

The final straw came about two weeks ago, when the demonstrators broke a bathroom sink, flooding the shop, and clogged the toilet -- setting her back $3,000 in damages.

She put up a sign that said the bathroom was out of order, but they tore it down shortly afterward, she said.

“I have the police in here 10 times a day, [and] I’m the bouncer. I’ve been called the spawn of the devil. “It’s unbelievable what goes on in here every day, ” Tzortzatos said.

And on Friday, she said, a crazed squatter burst into the shop and demanded that workers fill a 10-gallon container of water.

When they refused, “he banged it on the ground and started yelling” and threatened the staff, she said.

“He said he was entitled to have it for free.”

Tzortzatos said the unsafe conditions begin at around 5 p.m. every day, when “they come from the park drunk, under the influence of something.

“They use one of our doorways as a bathroom, and we have to scrub it down every morning.

“I’ve had people come in here and yell, ‘Boycott! Boycott!’

“They unplugged my ATM machine and plugged in their computers,” Tzortzatos said.

Another businessman, who complained to The Post about the squatters’ behavior last week, said yesterday that the situation has since deteriorated, adding, “You don’t know the half of it.”

But the protesters appear to be digging in, erecting three of what will eventually be more than two dozen, 16-by-16-foot military-style tents that will help them stave off hypothermia in the coming winter.

If anyone examines the healthcare bill, they will find many increases in premiums, decreased coverage and longer waits for doctor visits that will go into effect...(get this) AFTER THE NEXT PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS with the plan that will be when Republicans are in control of congress and REPUBLICANS WILL BE BLAMED AGAIN FOR ACTIONS OF THE DEMOCRATIC CONTROLLED GOVERNMENT.

Already Medicare cuts are so bad that CENA;s are overworked in the nursing homes...why? because Medicare no longer pays enough to the nursing homes to make ends meet. In general I believe reimbursment for Medicare (to doctors, hospitals, nursing homes etc is only about 20% of the total cost. So now a nursing home only gets reimbursed about $250 a month out of a $1200 a month bill to include rehab.

Medicare premiums have jumped because of Obamacare so they can cover abortions. Access to medications has declined and many on medicare can not get life saving medications especially for cancer. They get end of life coverage instead. The great social security increase will actually be less since medicare premiums are higher than the "raise" seniors are getting.

Oh and since the Obamacare laws began, my private insurance jumped from $350 a month to $600 a month for less coverage.

Here is an interesting bit about medicare threats. How many doctors will accept medicare patients with these cuts? They only get about $10 per visit plus the copay now.

I have my doubts that medicare premiums have jumped because Obama care covers abortions.Where did you read that?

Turn off the FAUX NEWS ,pal and actually read some FACTS !

I think its great they cover abortions. If we have people who are on medicaid getting abortions for what? Maybe $300 or even $500? OR those women continue the pregnancy(funded by medicaid the birth and delivery ALONE is WAY MORE than an abortion) and we have a new generation that is on welfare, at first under the mother and then on their own case when they are adult, who then has kids and those are also on the welfare then we have spent astronomically more than an abortion costs up front.

Financially for the country it makes more sense to fund abortion than to fund three generations or more of people living off the gov't. I would like to see some statistics showing the people on welfare and how many years they, their offspring a and on down the bloodline stay on gov't assistance. I bet it is way more than a measly $300-500.

Just take your personal opinion of the "right or wrong" out of the equation and turn it into a budget/math issue only and you will see the numbers make sense for abortion. (I am not debating the pro-life/choice issue here-that is a whole different topic), just the math).

"I could bore you with the details of two cases right here in Ludington in my own family where insurance providers dictate the care that my family gets.In case #1 my mother(even though FULLY insuredby TWO carriers)had to wait TWO YEARS for back surgery. Case #2 my own wife is/has gone deaf in one ear--has been reffered to the local ear nose throat doctor but cant get in  until JANUARY ! I consider both of these things total bullshit and can't wait for a better system."

Why did your wife have to wait 2 years for her back surgery?  Did the insurance companies arbitrarily hold the process up for 2 years?  In this and the case with your wife, is what you want is for the government to mandate that you and your family get moved to the front of the line?

okay,Max.I will bore you with the story and it is ALL 100% true. What I WANT is the over redundant WASTE in our present system GONE by whatever means possible. Meaning if some "policies" or ruthless carriers, crooked hospitals or doctors get tossed by the wayside --so be it..I feel none of their pain....Here goes.

First it was my mother who needed the back surgery. About 6 years ago her husband had a heart attack was aeromeded to spectrum in GR and had surgery. they said "hey were not kids anymore lets get some better health insurance". they bought an expensive policy that cover virtually everything.....EXCEPT unbeknownst to them since my mother retired from the county they gave her (some reward) a policy with our wonderful Blue Cross network. This policy (since her husband was still employed) supercedes ANY OTHER insurance that  they have. She was diagnosed with a condition in her back that needed surgery ,but the procedure that the doctor said was needed was not covered by BC--instead of a simple 10k operation that would have her on her feet and able to function in 3 weeks, BC said they would ONLY approve  surgery that cost 50k and involved wrapping the spinal column in a kevlar cage . She would have been on her back in bed a minimum of 3 MONTHS with a 6 month back to normal period. She has a farm , this was simply not an option. So she literally had to wait two years for her husband to retire  and ONLY THEN would Medicare step in and get it approved.---She had the simple operation and is better than she has ben in quite some time. Now do you suppose that BC gets a kickback from the company that makes the kevlar cages...? I do !

Next the case with my wife . She has some ear problems and went to her doctor he gave her a treatment that did not help, so he refered her to our local ear, nose throat specialist. He said "cant get you in until January "! God forbid a doctor would actually CARE and squeeze her into a time slot rather than being deaf !....Just so you know thats the guy RIGHT HERE IN LUDINGTON !

So since her insurance does not ALLOW YOU TO GO OUT OF THEIR NETWORK she must wait through the holidays DEAF IN ONE EAR !

as I said before TOTAL BULLSHIT !

So I look forward to ANY OTHER SYSTEM THAN THIS PIECE OF CRAP THAT WE NOW HAVE....

As I mentioned before, I'm sorry to hear about the issues that your mom and wife have had with getting medical treatments/surgery. That said, this is one of the reasons many people have issues with Obamacare... there is no proof what so ever that things will be better off with it. There are good intentions by those that wrote the bill that they think it will improve things but until all parts of the bill go into effect, we simply don't know. For all we know, your wife might of been worse off with it if it was in effect now. This is why if they were going to do anything with the medical/insurance industry that they take care of the worst things first, tinker with those things that need to be tinkered with 2nd and leave those parts alone that work fine for everyone. Fixing parts that are not a problem is just stupid and just causes problem down the road.

"they bought an expensive policy that cover virtually everything.....EXCEPT unbeknownst to them since my mother retired from the county they gave her (some reward) a policy with our wonderful Blue Cross network. This policy (since her husband was still employed) supercedes ANY OTHER insurance that  they have."

The underlined part of your statement is the problem. I am not saying it is your family's fault that they did not understand or know their policy either. But some might say just that(the insurer, hospital etc..), they could and will  say they should have asked the right questions and done the proper research etc...

But the problem lies in the fact that they did not know how the multi-policy set-up they chose would work.

BUT, How could they? The stuff is so confusing. The average person is not going to sit down and read through an inch thick policy (or two)from cover to cover(the insurers are well aware of that as well). And, if they did the average Joe wouldn't understand much of it anyway. I have never read a medical policy but i would bet it gets pretty confusing pretty quick. I have read auto policies and I am sure they are minor compared to a medical one.

Somebody should start a third party private type business who has no connection to the insurer but is only a "reviewer" like an auditor, a lawyer or some specialist who is (bonded for errors) cash paid by the person purchasing the policy to examine the policies they are purchasing and tell them what will happen if x,y,or z.

Ideally, that should be the Agent who sells the person the policy, but that is not how it works.

So, we need a new business that works for the purchaser, not the agent or insurer or anyone else, just for the person purchasing the policy and that person can review and put a stamp of guarantee(they would be held liable if wrong) on the documents that they will work the way they are thought to by the purchaser or tell the purchaser what the policy really does and tell them to find a different policy if it does not do what the purchaser wants. But they should have no connection to anyone but the person purchasing the policy.

I am sorry that happened to you family, but is one of the factors in why I have not boiught insurance(medical) yet. I just don't want to get screwed over after paying for something for years. Buyer Beware indeed!

In Canada my friend has to wait 1 year for a colonoscopy even though she is having  signs of problems. That was them RUSHING it. There is a reason many canadians who live near the border have one family working in MI and getting USA health insurance. (I've traveled and worked in some of the border cities)

Also where do I get my information from? Ummm letters from Medicare and reading the insurance policies closely. I find it interesting that some here believe seniors on Medicare should pay for abortion coverage they will never use. (unless they can become pregnant at age 70 or 80) I read the small print and that is where I get much information. How many actually read the healthcare bill? It was highlighted that premium rates would double the next few years to pay for coverage once the coverages start.

How many here have actual experience with seniors getting pay reductions this year because their Medicare premiums went up? I've had to deal with a person's personal finances with that.

How many here have had a close friend sent home from a private nursing home because they did not have money to pay out of pocket for their care. She was forced out on November 28 and died alone at home at 4:30 AM on Thanksgiving morning while CPS was trying to find another home to accept her.

I for one retired early planning on enjoying life traveling etc. Instead I now have to move and work full time in another town's nursing home because my (over 50 private premiums jumped from $300 to $600 a month to cover only 60% of major medical. Hubby is retired and collecting medicare so I deal with his medical costs as well. (But he is not the one I referred to earlier). His co-pays doubled, his premiums doubled and medicare did send a letter saying the rate increase was because of the changes due to Obamacare. BTW, because of all these great increases we now owe over $100,000 in medical bills most of which was incurred since Obamba care took over and our premiums trippled.

Oh and now Cancer treatments previously given to women for breast cancer are now unavailable...just like in Canada...because they are too expensive for those on Medicare.

Please do not accuse me of being stupid and not knowing what I am talking about. I SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE. I traveled this year in order to work and learned much from our Canadian friends regarding their stinky healthcare system. (which obamacare is patterned after.

I agree with Willy, and will only add this:  At its origins, the anniversary of the original Boston Tea Party was commemorated on December 16, 2007, by Republican Congressman Ron Paul supporters who held a fund raising event for the 2008 presidential primaries advocating an end to fiat money and the Federal Reserve System, disengaging from foreign entanglements in Iraq and Afghanistan, and upholding States' rights.

The TPM emerged from the ashes of Paul's 2008 presidential primary campaign.  GWB's stimulus' and bailouts also spurred the movement into increased popularity, and the 2008 election between McCain-Obama had many Libertarians,Conservatives and many Independents upset in that both were likely to continue economically liberal policies whoever won.

If you have not noticed, it is the liberal's who are attacking the tea partiers. I don't see the liberal's condemning the acts of intimination and injury the wall street occupiers are doing to local businesses. I don't see the liberals condemning the damages to the parks and the fact local people who live near those parks can no longer use them.
