"Convoy"? What made that movie stand out for you, Dave?
A favorite movie, to me, is one that you can watch again in a fairly short time and get as much if not more enjoyment from it. I must include in this list:

True Lies
Men at Work
Balls of Fury
Dodgeball: The Movie
Army of Darkness
Evil Dead 2
The Last Boy Scout
Blue Velvet
Big Trouble in Little China
The Wizard of Oz
They Live!
Not totally sure why I liked Convoy so much.. just do... lol. I think everyone has movies like that though, your not sure why you like them but there is just something about them you like.

They Live was pretty cool too... I liked when Roddy Piper goes into the bank and says "I'm here to chew bubble gum and kick ass... and i'm all out of bubble gum".. best line in the movie. True Lies was great too... possible Schwarznegger's best movie although Terminator 2 was really good too.
Still, you've got me interested in seeing that movie Convoy again; 10-4. They Live had a lot of good political satire, and is a must watch for those who see the current administration in a WTF light. I agree there may be a better Schwarznegger film than True Lies, but not as rewatchable.
Only downside to Convoy is finding it on video... took me years literally to find it. Was able to pick it up in Muskegon a year or so ago for $15... was the first time i'd seen it for anywhere close to that price in any video format. The VHS version of it was available for the longest time but the asking price was $80 as were many VHS back in the day. I worked in a video store for several years and it was always amazing to me that a vast majority of the VHS movies retailed for $80 to $90 each. We were able to get a discount on the movies so it cost us about $60 or so but even then, it made it hard to spend $80 on a movie like Convoy that had been out for years when you'd have to rent it out 20 or 30 times before you made any money on it. Anyway, might be able to find the Convoy DVD on the Wal Mart website.. seems like I recall seeing it there back last fall.
Convoy, the movie with truckers on the CB, standing tall as Americans? From the 70's? Ready to do battle with Smokey? Like Smokey and the Bandit too? Esp. the song, I have that movie soundtrack on cassette here somewhere, now where is dat thang? I'll take any and all Clint's movies, esp. Josie Wales, Dirty Harry, the Carpetbaggers and Iron Cross with George Peppard, and Arnold, "I'll be BACK!" The Longest Yard, Key Largo, Scarface, James Bond series, Houdini, Great Waldo Pepper, The Untouchables, 7th Voyage of Sinbad. There's just so many others too. LOL
Definitely Mel Brooks makes some of the best comedies.... Young Frankenstein (#1 in my book), Blazing Saddles, Space Balls, & Robin Hood: Men in Tights (my 2nd favourite if Mel's)... just to name a few.

But I also love a good Horror/Suspense flick.... I will watch anything with Sir Anthony Hopkins in it... Silence of the Lambs is my fav.... but he is the best at that kind of role (from all the way back in the days of "Magic" he's the best at being "out-of-his-mind-evil." There is also a little-known flick that I love thast I don't even know if it is released on dvd, the last time I saw it was on vhs tape.... it's called "The Changeling" (not the recent movie with Angelina Jolie... & no, that's not a remake of the one I mean either). This one is with George C. Scott (another of my fav actors) & it is chilling & I could never see it enough times. Another high-suspense one is "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle"... Rebecca DeMornay seemed to take lessons from Hopkins on how to play a seriously deranged sociopathic murderer ;)
