Thanks for stopping in... I hope this group can be active and enjoyable for everyone!

I don't catch a lot of movies myself lately, so I'll be interested in the reviews and features. Good idea for a group, Dave. Think possibly of adding some links here to viewing older films in snippets or their entirety.

I'm kinda like Disarm, I do love the old classics, westerns, dramas, some comedies, action too sometimes. Musicals done right with good music. Since the intro of satellite, I find myself not going to the theatre anymore hardly, just trying to find the goodies from before now. I too find the cost to see a movie now, plus the cost of food, is ridiculous. Thanks.

I took the ball-and-chain out to the movies last night near Home Depot, and was surprised to see that they did not offer any viewings beyond 7:15. As it was 9:00, needless to say I saved some cash, but does anyone know the nights they offer later showings?
  • Dave

Basically just on Fri and Sat nights during the winter... when it gets into the spring they will go back to having the 9pm and later shows. Once in awhile they offer late late shows too.
  • XLFD

Thanks for the movie advice, we'll either see Wolfman or wait for Alice in Wonderland.

If I have any Star Trek fans here, got something you might be interested in... I have all 3 seasons of the original series on DVD that I am getting rid of. Just bought the same seasons on Blu Ray so don't need the DVD versions now.. looking to get a $100 for them.. you won't find them cheaper then $150 in any stores or most of the store sites like Wal Mart and Best Buy online.. drop me a line if your interested.

I wouldn't generally post a 'ad' so to speak but made an exception for these DVD's being I know its a popular show and someone would get a good deal if they were interested in them.
  • XLFD

If they're in good condition, I will pay you $89.99 for them. I vowed not to buy these until they get under $30. Besides, I have to fine you $10.01 cents for posting an ad, LOL.
  • Dave

Only watched them all once so they are basically new :-P

Hadn't really intended to get the Blu Ray versions at this point but Best Buy had them on sale for more then half the price off their regular price and I just couldn't say no.... i'm such a sucker for a good deal.

Anyone see Titanic II? Not too bad to a B movie, and a lot more modern of course.

  • Max

I didn't even know there was another Titanic movie out...

  • AQUAMAN

Just saw it at the flea market, and bought for $2.50, along with Casino Royale, 2/$5. This time the Titanic is remade into a new, but similar looking ship, Titanic II. She sails on maiden voyage from NYC to arrive in England, but of course, never makes it. This time the ice polar cap melts, and the end result is 3 tsunamis hitting the ship to it's capsizing and quick sinking. Just something different I thought was interesting.

  • AQUAMAN

Mewonders, did Algore consult on this last Titanic II movie?

  • Lisa O'Brien

I saw Thor Friday - pretty good movie, not as good as Ironman but still worth seeing. Anyone else see it?

  • AQUAMAN

Lisa, how about giving it a review in Dave's thread so we have an idea of it's value and content? Thanks.
  • Dave

I saw Thor too... I thought it was pretty decent too. I have a review of it up on my Facebook page, I'll go grab it and put it over here.
