This document shows the settled judgment decided out of court that Ludington City Hall violated the Open meetings Act. The councilors approved the judgment unanimously at their meeting tonight. The press release that goes with it shows that even though they admit to violating the act, they did so with very noble purposes for an emergent situation, and that Tom Rotta's actions were far from noble. With this judgment, if the City Council of Ludington decides to go against the law in making decisions by E-mail, they can be in some serious doo doo. A win for open government forces.

I will be posting more in the main, but I am busy tonight making my own press release and moving on to my next project.  I'm sure my buddies at the City of Ludington Daily News (COLDNews) will dutifully report that Tom Rotta cost the taxpayers $4650 while City Councilor were responding to emergencies.  It's too funny.

Congratulations X. The judgement clearly shows that the City acted contrary to the law and the press letter clearly shows they knew it and that they still cannot admit they did anything wrong. Excuses and lies are their  defense and I'm sure the Court saw exactly that. What a bunch of renegades these people are. Wake up citizens. The City of Ludington is being run by law breakers and every one of them should be removed from office. They cost the City thousands of dollars on just this case alone then try to blame the person who caught them in their act of deceit. What a bunch of creeps. Keep up the good work. I think this topic deserves to be posted on the main forum.

Here is the City's press release.  It speaks for itself.
