Yes, DT/dt occurs first, but the intermediate topping charge brings the cells closer to fully charged with less of a temperature rise overall than -ΔV. Interestingly, I got some samples of the LTC4010 IC which can use Dt/dt cutoff with an appropriate temperature sensor (10K thermistor with a β of about 3750). The Overloader 1 and the Duratrax ICE (and the Team Checkpoint TC1030) are basically the same unit (the TC1030 does 10 amps instead of 8 in the Duratrax). The Overloader 2 is a new model. These units are rated for performance with sub-C packs, not D (which is what these cells are). I have never had good luck with MRC. I had a 959 Brain and it would not fully charge my batteries. I really like my duratrax ICE, piranha, and Hitec CG-335. All have worked great and never given me any problems. That charger is so old it doesn't come up on google. This will not work with any other chargers.
