3. Open drinks and food are not allowed near the lab benches. 4. Report any broken equipment or defective parts to the lab instructor. Do not open, remove the cover, or attempt to repair any equipment. 5. When the lab exercise is over, all instruments, except computers, must be turned off. Return substitution boxes to the designated location. OP-AMP Based INTEGRATOR.. Case Study . Lab Report . Videos Tutorial . Aim: To design and simulate an Integrator circuit and observe output with different input waveforms. Components required: Function generator, CRO, Regulated Power supply, resistor, capacitor, 741 IC, connecting wires. To get the most out of this lab manual it is recommended that students follow the following process: 1. Review a PowerPoint presentation about the lab activity. Replace the three 741 ICs by a single quad op-amp such as the LM324AJ. Note that the LM324AJ has four sections A, B, C and D. SECTION 1: OP AMP OPERATION Introduction The op amp is one of the basic building blocks of linear design. In its classic form it consists of two input terminals, one of which inverts the phase of the signal, the other preserves the phase, and an output terminal. The standard symbol for the op amp is given in Figure 1.1. OP-AMP Based Non-Inverting Amplifier.. Lab Report Aim: To design and study the open loop gain from Non-Inverting Amplifier circuit. Components required: Function generator, CRO, Regulated Power supply, resistor, capacitor, 741 IC, connecting wires. Vlab Specifications Taken: Laboratory Manual for Operational Amplifiers & LIC9 Procedure 1. Calculate the voltage gains (losses) for the voltage divider of Figure 1 for the resistor values specified, and record them in Table 1. Also, convert each of the ordinary gains into decibel form. 2. Assemble the circuit of Figure 1 using the 22k resistor. 3. INVERTING AMPLIFIER. Using an op-amp in your parts kit wire an inverting amplifier. Supply the op-amp with ± 15 V from the power supply at your bench (do not forget to connect power supply "ground" to the circuit board). Choose two sets of resistors in the circuit to obtain two different gain values, between five and a hundred. An Operational Amplifier is basically a three-terminal device which consists of two high impedance inputs. One of the inputs is called the Inverting Input, marked with a negative or "minus" sign, ( - ). The other input is called the Non-inverting Input, marked with a positive or "plus" sign ( + ). In this lab, we will measure the parameters of an actual 741 op amp. The measurement of these parameters will provide insight into the limitations of real world op-amps in various circuit applications. Summary of Procedures Using a 741 op amp, measure the following parameters: (i) DC open loop gain (ii) Input offset voltage In Op Amp circuits, the supply voltages are often not shown explicitly. * Parameter Ideal Op Amp 741 A V 1 105 (100 dB) R i 1 2M Ro 0 75 M. The "gain region" for an OP-AMP circuit refers to the range of input (Vin) and output (Vout) voltages over which the Vout value is directly proportional to the Vin val
