The default installed Citrix Universal Print client always tried to connect to the Universal Print server, even if it was not enabled by policies. It will connect to port 8080 on the printserver and when the Universal Print server is not installed, it waits for a timeout. When I was working on my ultimate Citrix XenDesktop internals cheat sheet just a couple of weeks ago I also got asked (thanks, Jamie) if I would consider updating my printing internals cheat sheet. After giving this some thought - which took me about a minute - I decided this was a great idea and got right to it. Issue 3) Adobe Reader asks them where they want to save the document instead of printing (they are not selecting a pdf printer), you can select a location and then Adobe Reader stops responding. For some unknown reason, the printer that is created with this version of Acrobat does not want to redirect in the users Citrix session when using Xeanapp 7.5. If we host the program in Xenapp 6.5 (Server 2008), the Adobe printer redirects using the Universal Print Driver with ease. The Citrix PDF Universal Printer driver enables users to print documents opened with hosted applications or applications running on virtual desktops delivered by Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. When a user selects the Citrix PDF Printer option, the driver converts the file to PDF and transfers the PDF to the local device. A list containing the majority of Citrix Universal Print Driver, Universal Pring Server and general printing support articles collated to make this page a one stop place for you to search for and find information regarding any issues you have with the product and its related dependencies. Very slow printing with Citrix UPD. Running the install with the /exclude "Citrix Universal Print Client" causes the UPD to not be installed also. Was this page helpful?
