Breadth Subjects. Arts foundation subjects . The Faculty of Arts has developed six first-year foundation subjects that offer cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary perspectives on a number of historical and contemporary themes. These subjects are designed to: Introduce you to core ideas across a wide range of study areas, and to different ways Breadth. Breadth is a unique feature of the Melbourne Model. It gives you the chance to explore subjects outside your core area of study, develop new perspectives, and learn to collaborate with others who have different strengths and interests - just as you will need to do in your future career. Breadth. Breadth studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music allow students from a variety of backgrounds to continue their interest in the arts or develop new skills and passions alongside their undergraduate degree. Some subjects are suitable for beginners, others need a level of experience. The Psychology major in the BA comprises of 125 points, 100 points taken as Arts discipline subjects and 25 later year points taken as breadth. Please note: Bachelor of Arts subjects have a hurdle requirement of at least 75% tutorial attendance, and regular participation in tutorials is expected, please refer to subject entries for specific hurdle. WHAT IS BREADTH? Breadth is one of the most exciting aspects of the University's undergraduate degrees.
