After the Manistee City Manager Thad Taylor refused to give out any part of the police report or use-of-force report regarding the Manistee police shooting of Lee Milks, I took the process through their city council with nothing to show, through the local court with nothing. After winning the right from the MI Court of Appeals to have the circuit judge actually review the records and determine whether they were exempt in April 2017, he determined today that nothing was exempt, changing his original ruling when he said that the hokey reasons the City gave for sheltering all of the records were good enough to claim the complete opposite. Winning-- thanks for paying all my court costs and disbursements City of Manistee, maybe your citizens will wise up and get rid of the garbage at city hall who think public records do not belong to the public.
