Most locals probably know, but Stony Lake is in Oceana County, accessible by taking the New Era exit (Stony Lake Road) off US 31 and heading west, instead of east to New Era.  Stony Lake is usually overlooked by those who prefer the dunes and pubic parklands of Silver Lake a few miles to the north.  As you can see, the lake shoreline nearby is similar to our own scenic beach views around Ludington.
