It was a very tedious responsibility indeed, 24/7 duty, maintenance, reporting vessels in distress, living on the same property, working with the coast guard, merchant ships, always on call, no time off practically. Does my lighthouse at least get honorable mention not being mason county?

Lighthouse-keeping must be rough-- there is only one who lasted over 10 years at the task, JB Isler, while the average stay was under 4 years.
