In this spurious reproduction of part of the 2014 COLDNews Reader's Choice Poll, the Ludington Torch topped the Website category once again, beating out Facebook and the Ludington Daily News. A special thanks to all our supporters and to Hamlin Grocery.

I'm afraid we lost the gold to Hamlin's Grocery website, followed by Facebook, and The COLDNews site-- at least in the COLDNews tabulations.  I betcha the Mason County Press and the Ludington Torch votes all had hanging chads on them and were disqualified.  If you look closely, you should notice the typeface for the Ludington Torch at the top of the poll is subtly different.  Hence the nod to Vaugn and Sheila's grocery store, and the usage of the term 'spurious' (meaning false or fake).

You gotta wonder about the ballot stuffing on these reader's choice awards to allow a simple grocery store in Hamlin's website to beat not only Facebook but also the host of the awards.  It reminds me of the Reader's Digest votes of a couple years back, where the small Mason county town of Walhalla beat Ludington soundly in their contest.

Congrats. on the website Gold award X. Appears like there are more smart and good local people watching and learning here than I ever thought there was. Good job!
