The US Treasury has announced plans to replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill with famed abolitionist of the middle 1800s Harriet Tubman. The move was applauded by many progressive democrats, who saw the replacement of a white man with a black woman as a positive; but their ignorance of history of the democratic and republican parties makes this a great bonus for their opposition, who have always been the party against enslavement. To add insult to injury, Tubman was a practicing believer of the Second Amendment.
Andrew Jackson founded the Democratic Party, and this is his thanks? In 1835 he paid off the National Debt, another feat not seen since. Why the $20 bill? Why not put this unknown woman on a $3 bill? We could also put other new currency in the form of other numbers not used yet. Why not create a $7, 15, 25 bills too, and keep what we already have? Silly and stupid idea imho.
I had never knew of her until I heard this on the news. People are unaware of all the internal changes going on in the Goverment which have been initiated by Obama at all levels of the bureaucracy. I even read rumors that Obama's picture will be put on one of the U.S. paper currencies. If that ever happens it will be the last time I use that particular currency.
