Anyone remember this event? I know I was quite young to attend, but I remember it happened. Best trumpet player to ever play.

I found it. It's an article from the LDN back in 2011.

I found this article on the internet. Nice find Aquaman.

Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong plays a melody on trumpet 49 years ago during a July 24, 1962 performance at Raymars in Ludington. Raymars was a roller rink/dance hall at the corner of Ludington Avenue and Lakeshore Drive. Russ Miller, who was a 23-year-old working for the Ludington Daily News at the time, snapped photos of Armstrong before and during the show. The photos are on display at Artists Market, 115 W. Ludington Ave.

“Satchmo” belts out a song for the Raymars audience.

Armstrong and his All Stars, from left, Billy Kyle on trombone, Danny Barcelona on drums, Armstrong on trumpet and Joe Darensbourg on clarinet, play for the crowd at Raymars 49 years ago. Also performing during the show but not pictured was singer Jewel Brown.
