A to-the-point letter to Councilor Rathsack from a citizen who lives on the extreme north end of Ferry Street (where there are no sidewalks). A letter that says it all about the City's boneheaded idea to make sellers of property without sidewalks have to worry about sidewalk installation, even when such a sidewalk would be otherwise useless because there's no others in the neighborhood. With limited resources, we need a plan, not a random installation model. We at the Ludington Torch salute Marjory's practicality and cogency. Marjory was too polite to add that the revision of the existing ordinance will also just wind up with the sidewalk deposits going into the general fund to be used on other boneheaded ideas like the West End Project.

Serving as Mayor of Ludington between prosperous times of 1952 and 1962, Dan R. Rathsack continued to serve on the Planning Commission and Library Boards into the 1980s.  If we talk of R. Rathsack, his main accomplishments have been... being a willing part of the most inept and corrupt council of recent memory.

Good letter Marjory. Glad she sees the entire picture for what it is. Do  you suppose that Rathsack will actually bring this matter up at the next cc mtg.? I very much doubt it, he's simply another placed crony that will ignore and hide more constituents. His dad Dan wasn't like that from what I heard and know from my dad.
