The cost of paying what the insurance won't cover is going up drastically. Deductibles can range from $2500 to $10,000 or more depending on your plan. If you can only afford the cheapest plan your deductibles can be as much as $13,000 per year. Totally insane.
And I always thought the only penalty for not having insurance was having to take full responsibility for paying the bills that an insurance company might normally cover.
And the penalty for not having insurance in 2016 is $695 or 2.5% of your annual income per adult, which ever is highest. So a family of 2 adults and 2 children whose income is $40,000 per year will pay [ 40,000 x 2.5% x 2 ] = $2,000 per year in fines for not having health insurance. And if your a Mormon with 5 wives, your in deep sh_t.
