The USA had 14,000 gun deaths in 2016. Out of that total, about 250-280 were from AR-15's, that's about 2%. This is not the preferred gun of most terrorists/mass shooters acts at all, but the libs. are singling it out to be, and want it basically banned from sales, sad. Good article X, these stories seldom see light in the media.

This is a little off-topic, being that it's in an apartment and not a school, but it goes to show you that the much-maligned AR-15, the pit bull of guns, can sometimes save lives, as ripped from today's headlines out of Illinois   Man armed with AR-15 stops knife attack by neighbor

OSWEGO, Ill. -- A man armed with an AR-15 rifle stopped an attack by one of his neighbors and held him until police arrived.
It happened Monday at an apartment building on Harbor Drive in Oswego Township.
Police say it all began when someone with a knife attacked another person during an argument.
Neighbor Dave Thomas, who witnessed the attack, went into his home, got his rifle and ordered the suspect to stop.

"I poked my head out the door. There was a pool of blood, blood was everywhere in the hall. There was still a confrontation going on, there were about three or four people involved at this point," Thomas said. "So I ran back into my house and grabbed my AR-15. I grabbed the AR-15 over my handgun -- bigger gun, I think a little more of an intimidation factor. Definitely played a part in him actually stopping."
The suspect was able to get away briefly, before he was captured by police.
The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital. No word yet on that person's condition.
Police say Thomas has a valid firearm owner's identification card and a concealed carry permit.
"The AR-15 is my weapon of choice for home protection," Thomas said. "It's light, it's maneuverable. If you train and know how to use it properly, it's not dangerous. And this is just a perfect example of good guy with an AR-15 stopped a bad guy with a knife. And there were no lives taken, so all in all it was a good day.

I think you missed my point. I'm agreeing with you. The pictures I posted are showing how absurd gun free zones are.

And btw, that's a silly sign Willy, has nothing to do with reality, nor school shootings, just a farce.

All I'm saying is that proper signage is a good start in the right direction that's quick and simple to do. I also recommend metal detectors to start too. All this would fall on the local school boards and parents that agree. Else, we wait and wait around again for the Feds. and State to legislate, and that will only delay the obvious of no effect for months or years to come again.

A sign is only useful if obeyed. People who respect the law will do just that but a criminal mind will, of course, be ignoring signs attempting to enforce legislation.

Signs, signs everywhere a sign.Who sang that song? Do people really think that a sign will keep a mental off person from going into a school, church, store, or event ?  It might keep some people comfortable but in reality it won't stop a nut case all.  Arming teachers or staff? only a select few would be willing and then do they have the mental capacity to shoot to kill and then live with it?

You can't tell me now that everyone believes that ALL Schools should be NO GUN ZONES? It just hasn't worked so far, in fact, it's been just the OPPOSITE!
