John Wayne (The Duke) and John Shay (The Rebuked) admittedly are polar opposites as far as characteristics go, but their names are similar enough to work well for spoofing. I apologize for any similarity between the two that might have been inferred.

Good thing the Duke is filling in for John E. Shay III, as the Duke's face is much more handsome. Besides, Shay III is too cowardly to take an oath to Americanism, let alone fly a fighter plane. But the symbolism is true to form.
