Today's edition of the City of Ludington Daily News (COLDNews) features two stories in the midst of the front page, one involving the resignation of WSCC President Chuck Dillon with about a quarter of a million dollar severance package (plus the regular retirement perks he gets from being a college administrator). On page 8, we also learn that another former WSCC employee settles for $70,000 to avoid a lawsuit against WSCC.

But at the foot of the page one story, we also learn that MCC needs to lay off two full time teachers. Both WSCC and MCC are primarily funded by the state treasury earmarked for education. Are the two stories related?

I don't see what the connection would be except that taxpayers are footing the bill for Dillon and the other WSCC employee.
