Calif. TV station films dog calmly playing with kids after cop shoots himself trying to kill it A California deputy accidentally shot himself while trying to...
In defense of the deputy, if a pit bull approached me and was barking my first inclination would be that I was going to be attacked. However, the deputy should not have entered the fenced in yard without thoroughly checking out the area. There could have been someone with a weapon for all he knew. Also the deputy should have been carrying mace. I would suggest the deputy receive more instruction on how to handle a firearm when under stress. He's lucky he didn't turn himself into a transgendered individual.
Dogma Karma I do guess. If any dog is behind a fenced-in area, no matter the behavior, it's penned in and safe to assume it can't break down the fence and bite anyone. Cops are supposed to be well trained in the necessity of unholstering a firearm. Obviously, this cop is trigger happy, and warrants relief of duty, permanently. Dogs know good people from bad people in most instances, and won't attack without provocation.
