GRUBER: "Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage."

Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber bragging about deceiving the American people, who he thinks are stupid. DATE: October 17, 2013. "This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO [Congressional Budget Office] scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. Okay, so it’s written to do that. In terms of risk rated subsidies, if you had a law which said that healthy people are going to pay in – you made explicit healthy people pay in and sick people get money, it would not have passed… Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really really critical for the thing to pass....Look, I wish Mark was right that we could make it all transparent, but I’d rather have this law than not." href="http://ldi.upenn.e">http://ldi.upenn.e...

This story keeps on getting more bizarre with Gruber claiming it was a misstatement, and then a couple of other videos are found at different venues where he says approximately the same thing that people were stupid and stealth in public policy is good.

You may have also seen Nancy Pelosi's press conference where she claims to have no idea who Jon Gruber is and claim he had no part in Obamacare's creation, and yet she has her own videos from 2009 where she specifically identifies Gruber with credit for it.  Read more here.

What we have is a multifaceted problem: 1) people are being told lies and dumbed-down by the media via misinformtion 2) people are uninformed or don't care to tune in to the facts 3) there are too many here receiving undeserved benefits/citizenship and only see one party offering it to them without strings or relevant qualifications. 4) Then, as X pointed out, the conservatives don't see a conservative candidate that can act in accordance with their principles and with constitutional conviction. RINO's have eroded and destroyed the whole concept of good solid government. 5) People have lost all faith in all leaders of today, and whom can blame them? All we see is politicians dedicated to their own selves, and not the will nor desires of the people. Decades of the peoples business is delayed, ignored, and finger pointing is the norm that never gets the work done.

Obama being voted into office the first time was largely in part because of the flawed candidate the Republican Party put up in 2008, one that showed over and over again that he had few conservative core values.  I know I could not pull the lever (actually darken the oval) for McCain, just as I couldn't for Obama, as he would have just governed like a moderate donkey in elephant clothing.

But the American people are being cheated of information to form civic opinions by the media and not taught how to form their own abstract, independent thoughts from our education system.

He's saying what we conservatives all knew. I have to agree with him that a large portion of Americans are stupid. How else does it explain why Obama was voted into the Oval Office twice.
