Classic Chris Craft yacht from the mid-50's

This old yacht is totally wood, no fiberglass, double-planked mahogony hull, teak decks, bull nose bow, classic lines that live on in a beautiful restoration by a true woody lover. The owner was absent, else we would have asked for a tour, and possibly a ride.

Dad did, and so did several of his buddies. His was a bit smaller though, this one is over 40', maybe 45', dad's was 35', but the same lines were prevalent. The boat mfrs. went to fiberglass over wood that rots over time in the late 60's, so I was too young. There are still many for sale, but most are in bad shape now. Lot's of upkeep and expense to pay.

Sweet ride.  Have you ever owned one of these beauties?
