Anyone hear what happened at Ponderosa last night (11/13/10)?

I heard late last night before heading home that the local Ludington
Ponderosa was apparently a victim of a armed robbery last night. I heard
this 2nd hand so I can't say if that is for sure what happened but I
can say that when I drove by Ponderosa last night about 12:15am that
there were 2 Sheriff patrol vehicle's sitting out front of the place,
blocking the driveways... so with that fact, it would at least add some
credence to what I heard.

Oddly, if something did happen, its not in the news media so far. I checked the usual local news media outlets (LDN, Mlive and the Channel 9 & 10 website) and so far nothing mentioned on any of the sites.

I remember the Alibi Bar, over in Mt. Pleasant, Mi., but you are "rarely" scene there anymore Max! Yuk! HD man!
Aquaman...I had the same question. Any manager carrying a large amount of cash should have some emergency call device a cell phone or something.

why couldn't the manager go back into Ponderosa and call for help? The manager had keys to lock the store. Weren't there any other places nearby to call from?

The other question I had why was the manager alone leaving the place with cash?
So right Masonco, I was a p-t college summer bartender many many years ago, and I always had an LPD escort when closing for the bank drop at the end of the night. Doesn't make much sense if LPD doesn't do that anymore either, or do they? A part of the puzzle just may be missing in this caper! Any Columbo's out here? Or should I say Barney's?
Can't say I am really surprised. With the economy in the tank and all the work overseas a person has to make a living somehow right? Isn't that capitalism?

I jest, but really, i would expect more of this to come if things don't start getting better.
That's what people were saying that i spoke with too...like, somebody had to know when the person would be there with the money, inside job maybe is what they were speculating.
At the very least it is total lack of responsibility to allow that extra 20 minutes or more and driving to a gas station when there were options closer.

Since the casinos came in Manistee surrounding ares must expect greater crime rates including violent crime. Gambling & drug addictions are rampant in this area.
