FLASHBACK: In 1999, Obama wouldn’t support tougher prosecution for school shooters

That's odd... our beloved president didn't seem to be overly concerned about gun crime back when he was a state senator but now its a big deal. I really wish this guy had a spine on him, what a flip flopping joker!

In 1999, State Senator Barack Obama voted “present” on a bill that would require adult prosecution for discharging a gun in or near a school.

That legislation came as a response to the tragic Columbine High School shooting that year.

SB 759 provided that anyone 15 years of age or older charged with aggravated battery with a weapon in school or within 1,000 feet of a school would be charged as an adult.

It passed the Illinois State Senate in a 52-1 vote, with 5 members voting present — including Obama.

That vote followed a trend for the young lawmaker, whose controversial votes on crime legislation often raised eyebrows.

A Chicago Tribune editorial even accused Obama of being a “gutless sheep” for missing a vote on crime legislation in late 1999.

Another point to make, in the meetings with VP joe bite me, the NRA made some suggestions for years on the Talking points they are useing to ban assault looking firearms.

1 there were 77000 attempts to falsley aquire firearms , according to the last report available 2009, and only 47 were taken to court by the DOJ, reason, they didn't have time to mess with them according to Holder.

2 The so called loop holes at gun shows, NRA has suggested for years to set up a booth with the BATF at shows to have immediate back ground checks, to which the reply was, the Batf didn't have the finances or the man power to do this.

SO, I ask you, who really is at fault for people aquiering allegal fire arms??

Hee Hee, in a big hurry to show their support for the children, NY rushed thru the toughest gun law in the nation, out lawing certain things, such as clips the hold more than 7 shells, completly forgetting the law officers of new york, who are now possesing illegal clips. And are breaking the law.

Don't you just love the politicians who are SO INTELLIGENT?

Very shocking stats there Easy, good work. Yes, the politicos are strictly capitalizing on the emotions and expediting of the moment, not the need for accountability and accuracy. Don't waste a crisis, remember?
