But wait! Hurricane Sandra (Named for my eldest daughter) is forecast to impact Lake Michigan with 20 foot waves...see you in California soon?

Wonderful! It is such a great pleasure to hear from the intellectuals of Michigan! I am tired of hearing Hokestra-isms, and it is refreshing to read some humor and studied analysis plus guesswork about an envied former Michigander..ha ha.. as for "Happy pills," who needs them? In case you didn't know, Mendicino county is the largest exporter of home grown weed in America. Another cash crop. Turn green you envious losers! It's nice to be here in the sunshine..Yawn.. time for my nap now.. the nurse is here with my meds..

Too true, Willy.  I think Bernard has stocked enough "happy pills" for awhile by the way his statements have gone, so I'm thinking he has plenty enough to afford black market doctors when he needs them.  He probably thinks death panels are wainscotting that you put on the walls of a mausoleum.

One positive note for Bernard is that he won't be around to see the political, economic and social destruction his progressive friends will be causing. I only hope that Bernard has his own private insurance because when Obama care kicks in and robs medicare of 700 + billion dollars he will be sitting in a wheelchair begging for mercy as he sits before one of Obama's "death panels". But he can take solace in the fact that he helped put a huge burden on those he leaves behind.

XLFD, welcome to the discussion! I assume you have some constructive suggestions? The comment about "Winners and losers" is really not germane. We are ALL winners, just living in this country! I have been fortunate enough to have travelled widely, and know whereof I speak. If your taxes are onerous or unfair, complain to your assesor, not some guy in California! As for where and how California gets its electricity...why is that a problem for you? We also export strawberries and wine...sinful pleasures of the flesh! Ha ha.

Brubaker, being on the winning team that cheated to get that way is less fun than being on the losing team that played by the rules, gave their best effort and know they were winners by principle.

Bernard Tower, California imports about a third of its electrical energy from out of state sources now and has legislation that says by 2020 a third of its domestic energy has to be from renewable sources.  If that goal gets reached, look for a higher percentage of out of state electric imports for you, and an even bigger energy bill.

Being a "Progressive liberal" can be fun. We get to laugh at the arm waving red faced regressives who would bring back the same old misery that Republicans have always brought to this country. What keeps Willy and Aquaman going is a steady belief in fantasy economics, and an equally fanatical desire to convince adults that they have all the answers..got news fellas.. you don't even know the right questions!
