Event Description

Must be the tourist season is about over now. DPW putting up 50-75 year old snow fences, picnic tables put away, concenssion stands closed, mini-golf closed, petunias being pulled, fish cleaning stations closing, resort boats pulled, clothing in stores for winter, not fall, flags on avenue being pulled down, and much, much more. Thank you COL for caring about the locals again, with disdain and dishonor to those paying taxes here, what a slap in the face continuing.

Yep, the COL once again has decided to look at the calendar rather than the conditions on the ground.  High wind conditions and storms that produce them do not come out of thin air, they are usually forecasted days before they hit, giving the DPW and any other volunteer help sufficient time to mobilize in front of it.

Instead they pat themselves on the back each year when they put the snow fence up a week or less after Labor Day and then puff up their chests in mid-October when the first fall squall happens.  If the City intelligentsia wonder why tourism drops off so suddenly after Labor Day, look no further than their rolling up of the City's biggest draw in early September each year, making it clear to late season tourists (and locals) that this isn't the place to go at that time.
