The one thing that has me worried with investing in CNG is that the price of CNG may go up and potentially fluctuate dramatically once 1) the demand starts to overcome the supply, 2) the cost of building the CNG distributing infrastructure needed for widespread use is addressed and 3) natural gas resources, a limited supply fossil fuel with many applications itself, are actually put to the test.   

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a CNG vehicle, but like vehicles powered by used cooking oil and gasohol, I can't see the fuel's cost staying low for long when those resources are stressed-- and people's home heating costs not suffering as well.
