So this is going around facebook - seems the Reed family wants the corruption to stay in officer longer!!! not good

"On behalf of the Committee for a Stronger Ludington, my dad and I are circulating petitions, which would allow for an addition to the August 7th ballot. The committee’s goal is to extend the City of Ludington term limits from 3 to 5 terms. We have great momentum and positive energy in our leadership and it is important to keep the movement progressing forward! Help us get the issue on the ballot and stop by our Ludington gallery by Friday at 5pm to sign the petition in support of a Stronger Ludington! We are open from 10am-6pm. Again, deadline to sign the petitions is 5pm this Friday. Thanks, Brad Reed"

this is what WMOM sent back to me :

hank you for contacting me.  I have done some research on your concerns.  I agree that the newspaper will do very little to report the situations.  I have checked and Barry Neal has a residence in the city.  We don't know whether it's primary or secondary.  Todd Reed lives in the city.  I believe Deb Luskin lives here as well.  As far as the other people that are driving the petition, we cannot find out.  We do know of several who have been asked to sign and refused because they don't live here.  If you can find more info, please contact me.

Patrick Lopeman, WMOM

so someone give me more info and I will send it back - I know Todd Reed lives on Harbor drive, that is not within city limits

what is a personal parcel when it comes to assessing?  I was looking online and it seems that all businesses downtown are classified as personal parcels and they pay LITTLE to no property taxes!!! wtf??? can someone explain this to me?/

Unless I'm mistaken, each address labeled as a personal parcel has a corresponding entry for that address that is taxed.  This also seems to be the same for many other cities.  I don't know why it's split that way, however.

Angela, Harbor Drive (Crosswind's Condos) are part of the City of Ludington.  Sure there is only about a handful of condo owners that call it their principle residence, but Todd is one of them.

I currently have a FOIA sent to the City asking about the particulars of the petition and the committee.  I find it revealing that they are staying hidden and that the ones who have come forward are offering specious reasons for doing so.

I heard somewhere else that LPD responds to X-winds complaints, so thats why.  If'n you make your petition make the two term limits retroactive so that Johnny H. will have to pack even sooner!!
