Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Watters of California lashed out at a group at a Town Hall meeting with a plurality of her faithful attending by saying:

"This is a tough game. You can't be intimidated. You can't be frightened. And as far as I'm concerned -- the Tea Party can go straight to hell."

This has been reported by the media, but what isn't being reported on the so-called mainstream media is her follow-up comment after the applause:    "And-- and-- I intend to help them get there."

Oh sure, she's among the same people who have called these modern-day patriots "hostage-takers" and "terrorists" bent on destroying the American economy during the ceiling limit debate; but isn't such rhetoric just months after the Gabby Gifford's shooting dangerous and incendiary?

This is at least an incitement to violence against a mostly non-threatening segment of our citizenry who believe in fiscal discipline and the founding principles of this country.  At most it is a death threat to those who she and her applauding audience thinks will restrain the deficit spending that runs rampant through Washington D.C.

Ms. Watters is in her own ethical mess in front of the House Ethics Committee regarding whether she tried to aid a troubled bank where her husband owns stock.

Americans, whether they agree with the Tea Party's politics or not, should recognize just how serious the recent wave of anti-Tea Party rhetoric is. The public policy debate in America has reached a fevered pitch of violent rhetoric and seething hatefulness. Political leaders and the voting populace who empowers them should speak with one voice to unequivocally disavow this kind of hatespeech.
