We hope to update this story as more material comes in, but according to Rachel Iovan of the Muskegon Chronicle:

SCOTTVILLE—Deputies from the Mason County Sheriff's Office are reporting two deaths at a residence near Scottville.

Officials were dispatched to the home at 3046 North Amber in Victory Township Friday about 9:30 p.m., a release from the Sheriff's Office stated.

Deputies found Fernando Dario Ramirez, 28, and Lacey Kay Bentley, 18, both dead, at the residence, the release stated. Ramirez and Bentley lived at the address.

The release stated that two suspects from Mason County, a 19-year-old female and a 21-year-old male, were apprehended in a northwestern Kentucky county on unrelated charges. The Mason County Prosecutor's Office is seeking warrants at this time, the release stated.

The incident is still under investigation, the release stated.

Several neighbors said that they had been questioned Saturday morning by police about any commotion they might have heard the night before.

Dayna Turk, who lives near 3046 North Amber, said she had not heard any arguments Friday night and that the residents, Ramirez, Bentley, and Bentley's brother and mother, were mostly quiet.

"We're a very small community. First 'Baby Kate' and now this? It's hard to believe this is happening," said Turk, referring to Sean Michael Phillips, who is accused of kidnapping his still-missing infant daughter Katherine Shelbie-Elizabeth in June 2011. Phillips is awaiting trial in Mason County Circuit Court. Phillips is from the Scottville area, Victory Township.

The Ludington Police Department, Michigan State Police, Ohio County, Ky. Sheriff's Department, FBI Louisville, Ky. office assisted the Mason County Sheriff's Office.

Big city, small town, farming community, makes no difference anymore. The days of leaving your house unlocked, keys in the car, are long gone folks.

Don't know the facts concerning this incident, but do know that being in the wrong place at the wrong time can put an innocent person in peril.

So, for those  who feel that having a ccw permit and carry are paranoid, may be thankful that some one was around and prepared for" what should have never happened in our small community"

Times have changed my friends.

You may know your neighbors and friends, but, being a resort town, do you have any idea of what the people visiting are like?

Heres a video I found at another place (you tube) with the news conference taken earlier today.  I can't wait to see what actually happened to have the girl wind up with 8 bullet holes and the boyfriend strangled and have the suspects way out in Kentucky or Tennessee.

Take care with the descriptions, Marty, the deceased have people in the area that care for them, and I don't want them to think you're insensitive to them.

Prosecutor Spaniola, Sheriff Fiers, and Detective Posma, from left to right.  I greatly respect Posma and Fiers, Posma is a born detective, and probably the best investigator in the county, and a genuine good guy.  Fiers, who stays mute in the above clip, is one of those people that don't say a lot, but says a lot per word.  He has a heart of gold, in my estimation, which is rare to find in a county sheriff.

Spaniola has a continual deer-in-the-headlights look who doesn't have the skills to do the important job he has thrust on him.  Never was that more in evidence when candidate Spaniola debated Prosecutor Susan Kasley-Sniegowski in this video.  She had wound up firing Paul as the assistant prosecutor, and he used his animus to run for her office.  He benefitted from the democratic swing that happened in 2008 all over.
